Bye Bye Winter
.
.
.
Hello Spring
.
.

.
.
... You are finally here my friend...
.
.

Not just a favourite season.. but also a frame of mind..The flowers know it is spring....everywhere I look spring is blossoming out all over... and with that comes the feeling of excitement and renewal ... new growth... new adventures... new hope... ... a clean slate!!! and the world coming alive with colour!! ... Even the weather has changed on cue!! Longer days & warm breezes heralding springtime....I've gone to sleep in winter.. and woken with the spring!!!
.
.

Time to spread my wings and dream a little dream. To make like a butterfly and flit from flower to flower... to swim in the salty goodness of the sea and cleanse my body and spirit... to be a wild thing.... and run bare footed in the fields... To dream a little dream.....
.
.
... Thank you spring.. You have come back into my life ...

.
To all my readers in these great southern lands

.
.
Happy Spring!

Spring Has Stage Fright
.
.

THE DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES: It seems spring its a little shy... September 1 she burst onto the stage, adorned with blossoms and sunshine.. Her opening number of warm breezes and bird song was a huge success... The crowds cheered and adored her with a standing ovation, thrilled to witness this long awaited spectacle.. And then.... as the sun set on the first performance, she hid under the protective cloak of mother winter... Seems stage fright had set in.. The bright spotlight sun had dazzled and confused her.. Spring is missing and hasn't returned for her second act.. I'm sure she'll be back... Sure it was just first day jitters... So my post today is for you dear Spring.. Sweet child of the seasons... Don't be afraid.. we loved you from our first sighting and know you will be a tremendous success.... Come back little spring.. your faithful bird friends and loving audience await you!!!

Such beautiful blossoms Julie.
Our Northern Hemisphere blogettes must be loving all of the gorgeous blooms on our Aussie blogs and be a bit like the butterfly you've mentioned and flit from blog-flower to blog-flower [ooh that doesn't sound quite as special as I'd envisioned it, but I'm sure you know what I mean].
Enjoy this spring weekend,
Felicity

Hello my Photoshop Sister! Long time no see! I am finally catching up with you. I wish you a wonderful Spring. I can still remember ours after that cold snowy winter we had. Nothing boosts the spirit more than the colour and fragrance of flowers! We're still in summer mode (i use the term loosely) here, no signs of autumn... yet. I've been busy working on a photography project in b&w, in memory of my dad, so i've not been posting much on the Highland blog. Hopefully, i'll be visiting more regularly soon. Coming here always puts a smile on my face. I've missed you. :) Lizzy

I just thought I'd take a moment to write from my Presidential Suite here at the Ritz Carlton to say that in my part of the world we have No Spring and are Aggrieved. The beauty of your images only makes us more Aggrieved.

Hi Julie,
How lovely that Spring is arriving on your doorstep....even though she became a little shy and went back in again. At least you know that the warm weather is just around the corner. I can feel a distinct chill in the air here in the UK and know that Autumn and Winter are around the corner but, that's O.K. I love all of the seasons. XXXX

Hi Julie

So happy to be back in the land of blogs! Your photos are just stunning! As spring arrives for you, I guess fall is on its way here. We haven't really had a summer yet. It was very late in arriving (just about 3 weeks ago the marine layer took a hike) and now fall is coming. Really our fall/winter is the nicest time of the year, so I have nothing to fear. Okay, so it sometimes rains, though not often, and it may be slightly cooler than summertime, though not by much. All in all, not a bad place to live!

I hope your spring is lovely and all you have been dreaming of!

Hugs,
Tamerie

As we head into fall there is a little bit of wistfulness for the summer behind us. NO! we love warmth! Fall is beautiful here but winter is too long and cruel. We'll be heading south then. Good to know that spring is happening for you. The pics are lovely......

Hi Julie! I've been on a new computer and think I've finally figured it out! You've painted such a beautiful image with your words about spring! I think I'm going through my own spring here even though it's almost fall. It's a little scary but exciting at the same time! I love your photo art of the blossoms! Now I need to go enter your giveaway! Have a great weekend! Jennifer:)

You are so great, Julie. I just love your posts! I can hear Spring's magic in your 'voice' while the world is exhaling here and we are all turning inward for the journey of winter, you are dancing with Persephone! Mmmm what delicious days ahead! Enjoy!

Hey there pink girl! Are these blossoms just for me? haha!
Don't worry Spring will be back...it's always touch and go in the beginning. Customers always ask us the same thing...."when's it going to feel like Spring?". Our reply is always the same...this is Spring weather....teeter toddering back and forth from Winter.
Here we're leaving my least favorite season Summer and entering Fall my favorite of all.

Loving the paint-like quality of these photographs Julie!!!!
and the name Ruby Time Production!!!!

Happy spring to you dearest Julie. The photos are magnificent as always. We are moving out of the pinks and into the oranges of pumpkin season, although it is still warm enough to paint outside in bikinis ;-) Lucky I've finally finished the floor of my art studio so I can move my things in there as the weather turns Autumny and I put those bikinis away.
Much love

hahaha...You know, given todays weather I think Spring has decided the Ritz Carlton is the better option. You haven't spoilt her have you? Offering her such luxury while she's meant to be working:)
Beautiful, beautiful pictures, so soft and delicate!:) xo

But you took her picture so beautifully! Maybe Spring is teasing you... wants you to sweet talk her. Or maybe do that springtime dance in double time.

Sweet, peaceful weekend to you, dear friend.

Oh, lovely Julie. Spring, She is toying with you mere mortals. She's just that way. I am happy for all of you Antipodeans that she's on her way back...us Northerners will be able to enjoy it vicariously. (As you no doubt know, we've had the hottest, worst summer on record...so we're ready to say bye-bye...but winter can stay hidden for a long time, as far as everyone is concerned, I feel confident in typing that. Remember we also had one of the worst winters in history books. I'm talking from the States to Europe to Russia & so on.)

I forgot to enter the contest by putting the badges on the blogs. I hope it's not too late. I shall do so right now. It's such a pretty shop.

Julie,

Spring is doing wonders for you my dear friend. You can hear your spirits lifting. It has been a long winter for you, and you deserve all the pinkness Spring can bring for you.

As for me, fall, winter, spring, I"ll take anything but this impossible heat.

All of these photos would make the most stunning stationery collection, or I envisioned an entire wall of these framed, above an 8 ' long beige mid century modern sofa. HGTV's Sarah Richardson just did a room with pink and these would have been perfect!

Beautiful!

Enjoy the pink.

I've just had a little peep outside - it's first light and there are no clouds, the ferocious wind has stopped, the blackbirds and blue wrens are singing and the pear trees are covered in white blossom. Could it be that spring is back - fingers crossed! I love your blossom flowers and your ode to spring - perfect! Leigh

Your lovely blossoms are opening up & ours are falling off! Your photos were such a delight to see Julie. Nothing speaks more of spring than the pink blossoms of fruit trees. I love what you wrote about spring. Ruby Time Productions is one classy company!

You make me long to visit your Australia. Big hug to you Julie xx oo

Hi Julie,

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment on my blog today... I was so touched and it was a lovely reminder that we are never alone in grief... that others have trodden a similar path.

Moving on to happier thoughts... I am with you entirely in your efforts to channel a little Spring sunshine back into September! How glorious was this morning... only to be thwarted by a dirty big rain cloud this afternoon! Frustrating but I fear we must take what we can get!

Thanks again my lovely blogging friend.
