Welcome to the blog 'Formally Known as';

 'Being Ruby'!!

Now that would be a title! It is how it seems at times. The incredible shrinking Julie. Or is it Ruby. Either way it seems there is not enough of either of late. So here I am with 2 moons, a sea or two and a flower child thrown in for good measure. 

Most of today's artistic endeavours are re-works of previously published art, alla' Ruby. A little makeover if you will. A do over into something less concrete, more fluid. Something to allow the mind to wander and the heart to dream, final destination unknown . A little less reality as I, like many of you, could do with a little escape from our daily lives. 

With that said, I need to get back to my reality, so thanks one and all for hanging in there with me and I'll catch you on the flip side!!

PS. For those of you [Yvonne!]  who enquired as to Posie's well being, I'm sure she is fit and well and living it up somewhere on the mediterranean, unlike us!! I hear rumour she may return one day, but for now let's just be envious of her flippant ways!

The Moon Swung Low In The Sky

Posie Was Lost

And Black Sheep was frantic!!

The moon took pity on poor Black Sheep and swung low in the sky. To and fro all through the night, but Posie was nowhere to be found. She had run off with Mr Big Waves. He had promised her adventure! He had promised her all her heart desires!!

Silly Posie! Little did she know all she could need and want was right here at home! Silly Black Sheep!  He blamed himself, and so did all his clan. His reputation forever tarnished and all for a little folly down by the sea.

This week we are showing a Super Moon Extravaganza. Full to the brim, Mr Moon is whipping up a ferocious sea and doing battle with Mr Big Waves. Known for his exciting action scenes, Mr Big Waves will be making a SPLASH across the big blog screen in a dueling battle with Mr Moon. Who will be the victor? Or will these two exciting players find a sense of calm amidst the brewing storm? Only time will tell. Whatever the outcome you are sure to be thrilled by the emotion sparked by these two big names on the blog circuit. Only Mother Nature herself has ever managed to tame their antics once the feuding is set in motion.

Tonight's action is mellowed by an up and coming new player 'A Pocket Full of Posies'. Never before seen this side of the Plimsoll Line, this quiet and sensitive stunner will be sure to pull your heart strings. A warning for the sensitive folk, some scenes may disturb! 'Posy' finds herself in the midst of a ferocious storm. Will her petals survive? Will she be blown to the 4 corners of mother earth? You'll have to wait for the sequel. So come back next week for our coming attraction when 'Mr Big Waves' visits 'Posies' quiet village home at the edge of the sea.

Twice In A Blue Moon

Failure to blog is about right and now I've missed posting both Full Moons in August ..So.. Here's two versions of the same moon to keep you thrilled and riveted to this blog space! [or.. in reality...I couldn't decide which I preferred!]

Around about this time last year I was wandering the path on the way to Atrani on the beautiful Amalfi Coast, as I happened upon this interesting building propping up the rugged landscape. Sadly I'm not there this year but hopefully again one day.

Sorry I haven't been visiting or posting. Just no free time right now, but thanks to those of you that continue to pop in or email and let me know I'm still part of your world!! It warms my little heart!!

BIG MOON: Big Week

Tonight's Full Moon is the annual Super Moon. When the moon is perigee and closest to the earth than it will be all year.. Expect The Unexpected.

It's a big week for me also. Starting a new contract tomorrow and hitting the half century on Friday. I will be celebrating by taking off on a little trip later in the week. Wish it were Venice!! But Noosa will do just fine!! Meanwhile. I don't have much to say.. but;

To The Moon Alice: Into The Night

Into The Night

Grandfather Moon summoned all his strength to glow brighter on this last night of his ascent. He had not seen the earth child this season.. The one that wanders and watches his journey each month. Where could she be he wondered.. As much as the earth children had grown accustomed to his monthly visits, he had grown accustomed to theirs and in particular the blonde one, the one who's hair reflected his smile and floated on the wind like the seagulls that danced around her.

Where could she be he wondered.. The full moon season was almost at it's end. He could feel his powers slipping with each nightly ascent. Already his face was losing it's structure.. His hairline had aged and receded quickly this month, there was little time left before his ears would fade into the darkness of the universe then how would he hear the blonde one's wishes.

One last try he promised himself. I will search out her home and rise up above the rooftops  throwing such a glow she will hear the insistent knocking at her window.  So Grandfather Moon changed his course across the night skies.. Moving south he fed upon the rising stars and asked the clouds to assist his journey... But still he could not find the blonde one.. The trees had grown thick with their summer leaves and thwarted his view upon the earth. It was growing late and soon the earth children would prepare for slumber... With a kind and gentle voice he asked the trees to move south with the clouds, to make a path for his journey.. We can't they cried.. We are bound to this earth in the place we were created.. We cannot wander from our birthplace. So the moon made a pact with the trees... and the winter winds would assist the task.

A fierce wind was blown upon the earthbound trees. A wind so fierce, the summer leaves lost their grip and scurried through the night sky to search out a safe haven. Barefaced and rigid, the trees stood stark and still, chilled from the sudden undressing. And there, hidden behind the branches, Grandfather Moon found the blonde one.

Not lost.. but waiting..

Me Again

Hi Everyone.. My story is by way of apology to the Moon for being so late with my moon post this month. I hope he forgives me!! And the artwork is for all of you.. So you too can make late wishes upon the moon.

Autumn is here in Sydney... Some days summer is hanging on... forgotten to come earlier it is making a last ditch attempt to warm us before the chill of winter sets in.

I hope to get back to regular posting soon. And to all of those who have been emailing and commenting on my whereabouts.. Thanks for thinking of me.. I've been thinking of all of you also and will try and catch up with emails and visits soon.
