The Mouse, The iMAC and The Christmas Bauble

.
.

Twas the Night Before Posting
And All through The House
Not A Creature Was Stirring...
Not Even ..... The 'Mouse'

.

It Must Be Batteries I Said To Thy Self
Alas It Was Not... Perhaps Some Sly Elf

.

What Can I Do???
My Post Is On Morrow!!
The MAC In The Box ... Should Remove All This Sorrow!!

.

The Desk Was A Nightmare From The Ghost Of Past Weeks
I Culled and De-Cluttered, It Was Order I Seek!
The MAC Was Brought Forth From The Box It Twas Hidden
It Promised To Bring, The Joy That Was Bidden

.

With A Hum and A Whirr It's Life Was Awakened
And Then With A Sigh, My Hopes Were Forsaken
The Clicks And The Keystrokes I Knew From Afore
Were Nary Familiar, Twas Becoming A Bore

.

I Tried What I Had To Summon A Post
With Images Lost To The Sad PC Ghost!
Don't Let It Be Said Technology Won
A Post Will Be Made To Accompany This Song

Well this is my first post from the IMAC. As you can see until I transfer all my images over, I am limited to what I can salvage from the Ghosts of Posts Past, plus a little help from Beatrix Potter.

I love this poem...so fun, Julie!

Hope you have a wonderful time with your new buddy -- there's nothing like a Mac, especially a new one. The smell, the perfection, lovely.

Love these photos, too. What a great mood.
Have a wonderful weekend*

Loved your poem...but really enjoyed exploring your religious icons. The devotion of the Spanish is palpable in color and gesture...merry christmas!

Oh bravo Julie! Yes, that computer transition feeling is so pesky. Good luck to the new iMac and all who post with her (cheerily smashing a bottle of champagne from afar). Just the thing for your clever image manipulation.

Dear Julie, oh Julie, you'll soon fall in love with your iMac, no need to worry. Mine is now a dinosaur at six-years-old, but still runs better than my PC ever did. I fear it will need to be replaced in the next year to one with an Intel processor and I shall miss my old friend.

I love your poem! I sent you an email about your background dilemma, hope it helps.

Oh Julie, what a brilliant poem, you're so clever......... not only for that wonderful piece of prose but for getting your new piece of technology up and running. Whenever I get a new computer, I have to get a man in !!!!
Great piece of writing accompanied by amazing views of my favourite city....oh, and I mustn't forget the dear little Beatrix Potter mouse. I'm sure that he was your major source of help !!

Love the poem, Julie!! What an imagination you have. And hooray for mastering the new IMAC. I am trying to get used to my daughter's laptop, but everything 'feels' different...

Love your photos and images.

Happy holiday!

Hilarious Julie and it's great to see you confronting the hair-raising and ripping challenges of a new Mac with all your usual fabulous humour!
Hang in there - like AM, my Mac is also a dinosaur at nearly 5 year's of age but it's still hanging in there. And I don't have half your talent with a computer so you'll be whipping out more masterpieces than Michael Angelo in no time.
Has any little postal mouse arrived yet???
Much love

Dear Julie-Roo,

As I poet, I commend you! An excellent example of word-bricolage, my dear (plus repurposing pix). Brava!

Twenty-two inches of snow outside the door. Eeek.

You clever, creative woman ... is there nothing you can't do? What a fun poem you've composed here! You'll learn to love your Mac. I've owned 9 of them since 1985 and from my first little 815 to my current iMac they've continually proven to be dependable friends.

Precious poem!

And you will love your iMac. I know you will! We switched some years ago, from Pc. My main reason was all the worries about getting a virus/worm/etc., on Pc's. No worries [yet] of this, on a Mac.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Another iMac person!!!

hi Julie good luck and I LOVE you poem. We just bought one of these (or is it just a new Apple and is an IMAC actually a laptop? Not sure). Anyway it's ginormous but the MOUSE completely freaks me out its tiny and the back keeps clicking off. I prefer big old fashioned mice). xoxox

Love your mac poem and beautiful photos.

It's stressful to switch computers. I think the mac is a good move. My sister has one and she loves it!

Julie, what a clever woman you are! I can never get anything to rhyme while making perfect sense.
Once you have a Mac you won't want to go back.

You're a poet, my dear!!! And Mac will be my next computer also. I've heard so many good things..., one of which being less vulnerability to virus' and spyware...., but as of now I know nothing about MAC's..., I can only imagine the learning curve, figuring it all out, etc. I wish you the best with that..., and have a wonderful Christmas, Julie!!!!
