This is Australia: Tenterfield Saddler

G'day!! As you know I have been a little slack at getting round to visiting all your blogs. Too much work makes Julie DULL!! So to brighten Dull Julie.. and hopefully you too, here is a post inspired by the colours of the Australian Bush, sunsets, and that sentimental song by Peter Allen … ’Tenterfield Saddler’!

I took these shots in the countryside surrounding the small town of Tenterfield which lies near the NSW and Queensland border [home to the famous Tenterfield Saddler]. I also have these and other Tenterfield shots in Black & White which hopefully I will bring you soon. But for now …. I Hope you enjoy these ‘Australian Bush’ images and …

May your rainy days always be followed by rainbows!!

Ciao Julie 4

What lovely vintage-look photos, but I think we need an embedded audio-file of you singing the song to complete the experience...?

(The pictures remind me of the Life and Times of Grizzly Adams; that's so totally wrong, I know.)

They do look like paintings. I do not know this song, so I think that the idea of an audio file of you singing it is an excellent idea!

Or someone singing it....

Is there anything more beautiful than a rainbow? I never get tired of the surprise of seeing one. These are beautiful shots. I hope your life slows down a bit and you can enjoy taking care of you!

I know what you mean about too much work. Must be the time of year. Those photos are beautiful and just what Peter would have wanted. Did you know he was an excellent cook? I would have loved to have him over for dinner!! Imagine how hard it would have been for him growing up in Country Australia! have a lovely weekend. xoxo

Hey Julie...where has fun and brave Ruby got to ?....is she on holiday?
These photographs are beautiful...I love the colour.....and the composition....and the content. Doesn't the blossom on the tree look lovely and the rainbow is the crowning glory. That is obviously an Australian song that I'm not familiar with. I'm with Mise and think that we should have audio of you singing, with this post !!!! XXXX

That song always brings a lump to my throat....I find it so poignant. I remember driving through Tenterfield a few years ago, heavily pregnant (how unusual!) and being struck by its raw beauty. These photos definitely do it justice.....clever clogs. Meredith xo.
p.s. hope you get some time to put your feet up this weekend.

Tenterfield only looks prettier with your photo styling, they look fabulous. Have a great weekend, wouldn't life be good if we could all spend a little more time just over the border.
