WALKING WITH THE WILD THINGS
I'm still trapped here in the 'Bermuda Triangle of Stupid Stuff' ... but each day it seems it's grip on me is dissipating... Soon I'll be back to my beloved evening walks along the bay... camera in hand, capturing the beauty of the day's end.. Watching the wild things wash and play at the water's edge after the heat of a summer's day...
Speaking of heat.. we have just concluded a week of heat wave days ... topping the chart on Saturday with a max of 43c [approx 110F for you US folk] which groaned on through the night only dropping to 30c in the wee hours... Thankfully by Sunday evening our blessed southerly buster blew in .. and brought cool breezes.. rain.. and dramatically cooler weather.. we are now maxing 21c... but expected to return to summer by week's end.. So.. to those that received comments from me on Saturday... I apologize for my incoherent blabber and blame dehydration and hyperpyrexia .. For those that didn't.. I apolgize for my absence and blame dehydration and hyperpyrexia ..
I also haven't had a chance to take any shots lately.. can you believe I haven't had a camera in my hand for over a fortnight??? ... So I'm keen to get back to it... and take you along on my evening passeggiata..
....
IF WALKING ISN'T YOUR THING
YOU CAN ALWAYS PULL UP A PARK BENCH
....
....
AND SIT AND WATCH OTHER WILD THINGS AT PLAY
....
Wishing You All A Wonderful Week

Good morning my sweet friend! OHHHHH you never ever disappoint in any way, even if you are going through things, you always put in a post that transports ME into your world of peaceful images. Thank you for visiting me and yes, I drew that little girl with the balloon, but the photos of the beach are not mine...I CAN'T TAKE A DECENT PICTURE! But I can draw scribbles to make you smile. 110 DEGREES FOR YOU? OH, that reminds me of my California days!!! Now we just had 30 BELOW ZERO FARENHEIT last week!
Wishing YOU a happy day and may all the challenges you are having at the moment be swept away.....Anita
I had a chuckle at the last shot as I thought I wonder if Julie is watching the four or two legged variety of wild things ha, couldn't resist that tease. Your rod Stewart dream was so funny. I love dreams like those they are so vivid. I will have to tell my sister in law....she once threw her bra on stage at a rod stewart concert. She is very ashamed now but the memory is so funny. Glad to hear the tide seems to be turning and you are getting back to doing the things you love. Xx katherine
hi Julie!
Wow...that heat is unbelievable! Glad that you are recovering! Love your wild things playing on the shore line..and love your new look on the blog!
love u 2!
Oh My.....hot, hot, hot....I hate to say it, but it sounds pretty good right now...we are all sick of the snow and ice, here on the east coast usa.....a camera always make me feel better too...smiles.
Thanks for coming over and taking a walk on my beach with me and in turn, you've now taken me for a walk on yours. I love when this happens!
Glad to read that things are letting up a bit, both on the heat index and the psyche.
We had a drizzly weekend, so I stayed in and relaxed by cooking and watching movies. I needed a break from thinking and it worked out very well. I did manage to get a ton of shells cleaned and washed, ready to start glazing when the rain clears up. Trying to be productive and remain positive.
Take care my sweet friend.
Have a great week, Julie! These images are beautiful as always.
Stay cool. Look forward to more images!
Have a wonderful week.

You can count on the beach for characters to watch...they never mind if you take their pictures. Glad you have a few back-up shots to fill in for your absence at the beach...we're just now getting signals of spring...perfect weather in Florida for planting new things...
Julie, your images are so beautiful! I hope that this week will find some rest for you and you will be able to enjoy your walks again. :)
Oh these photos are sheer magic, you've captured summer for me with your creative lens!!
I'm off for my passeggiata now..
it sounds so more enjoyable than walk dear Ruby!!
We're experiencing humid hot days and nights too though not so extreme in NZ.
My little froggy family will be here next week - woo hoo!
hugs
Shane
I am sorry you had all that heat to deal with, but I would happily take some of it off your hands! But have I mentioned how great it is to see your lovely photos and have you posting again?
Beautiful, beautiful images. Sometimes it's hard to imagine that while we're shivering at our keyboard you are dealing with sweltering heat.
I don't know how you take that heat! But I don't know how I take in the summer either. You have to embrace the sweat as I call it. haha
yeah right!
anyhoo love these images.....and from here all I can think of are cool summer breezes and the quiet and solitude of a walk on the beach.
I still owe you an email. promise tonight!
hugs,
Carole
Precious..I am late today! I worked so hard all weekend here in our new rooms and woke up late today so no room for blogging...but thank you for your heartfelt notes and comments on Violet's gift and my harp. Truly this world is made beautiful by the love we give away...FONDLY, Anita
Remarkably stunning photos!
Julie,
Do you live very close to the beach or do you have to drive there? Your photos are always so peaceful and seem as if you live amongst the birds and nature all of the time.
You're covering your Bermuda Triangle angst very convincingly!
We'll happily wait for your comfortable return.
Marina

I went for a walk the other night around the block! I want to chase those seagulls bad! WOOF!
Blather on about any old thing your heart desires, Miss Julie, as long as you keep giving me lovely images to linger over. And please keep talking about your mercury rising... I am so eager for the same.
Hugs,
Julia, across the ocean
Enjoy the cooler weather Julie. It has been stinking hot here too until this week. I love the shots. Lots of great images. I love the fences and the birds.
Beautiful photos, Julie; I'd love to have a set of notecards depicting these that I could send to my friends with kindly words whenever they suffered from dehydration and hyperpyrexia.
Beautiful photos, like a fresh breeze on the beach! Have a lovely week!
Once again your choice of images are so calming, so inspiring. I hope you are emerging from the Bermuda Triangle not worse for wear. It really doesn't matter if it is as large a disaster as others have faced, it is your own personal distraction and can certainly take you off path for awhile. I am happy you seem to be "weathering" it well. (pun intended :-) ) I surely understand a sweltering heat as we get a few months of it ourselves here in the Arizona desert. Sounds like it is time for a nice tall cool drink :-) ~Blessings, Janet
Great shoots :)
so beautiful, the way you made me laugh, through it all.
xo
I love both..., walking and sitting on a bench observing! Beautiful!!!
Hi Julie, such gorgeous, gorgeous photos...love them, your photos are always the best!
pop by my blog if you have time, am doing my first blog giveaway!! :))
Oh wow Julie. I like the wild things you hang with!!!
So sorry about the awful heat you have been experiencing. I can't even wrap my head around that kind of heat. I live in the mountains of Idaho, so our temps usually stay tolerable all Summer.
you gave me a good laugh with the last part.
sending cooling hugs...
Hey there friend and thank you for your comment the other day. I am sorry to hear you too have been feeling off. For sure the heat wave didn't help one bit..!
Loving your snaps of 'the wild things'.. I too love evening walks and capturing the magic of flying cuties. If there is one animal I identify with it is the bird. A totem guide for me I think..
Now, let's get serious about that coffee..! Email me times and dates and let's make it happen.
big hugs
xx Charlotta
hi darling... we are all here for you... and loveee the photos! xxoxoxoxoxo
julie you are amazing, imagine making a couple of coppers logs look so artistic and intriguing !

look forward to you being snap happy again now its cooling down.
Ever, ever wonderful Julie. I only can desire to stay in summertime when I look to your pictures
I hope that you a re well and spending a great week.
Hugs
Cecilia
Doesn't everybody love the seashore?? I do! I do! Sounds like a hot one alright! I just can't sleep in that kind of heat. Just back from Mexico and it was rather hot there too....sleeping was done but not easily. Now I have cold air blasting over me with my window wide open and I sleep like a log.....oh, but I miss the sunshine though! ....good thing I am so well adjusted.....best, Susan
I'm thinking that I'd love to have a daily calendar of your photos to gaze at while I deal with my every day stuff. Gorgeous work, Julie!
By the way, send some of that heat our way. Our roads were iced over this morning.
Dear Julie,
Gorgeous photographs.....I particularly like the one of the grasses and all of the 'wild things' down on the beach.....hope things are getting better in that Bermuda Triangle of yours.
We have had the most glorious day here weather-wise but about 1/10th of your temperatures !!!!
Try and keep cool Julie. XXXX
Hello Julie - I wish I could bottle up our frigid temps and share with you. We're having the kind of weather you are (extreme) but in the opposite direction. Pretty weird for Houston. Tonight, in the low 20'sF. I loved your photos, the birds I think quite like being photographed by you. Your blog is looking so fabulous. I love the colors. Get that camera back in hand and make the magic happen my friend!! Hope you are well and happy? Have a fabulous weekend ahead. Hugs xx Deb
Here is hoping you get back into your regular swing of things real soon.
Your pics are stunning as always.
