:Rx: Prescription For 2011

2010 was a strange year for me.. A year of letting go.. getting off the treadmill and letting the madness rush by without me.. But this year.. I need to re-engage.. Get back into the swing and partake in this thing called life.. So to arm me for the task.. I'm NOT going to make resolutions.. No.. resolutions are for people who are 'resolute'!! I will think about some goals over the next few weeks.. but I'm going into this year with my options open...my possibilities endless.. My only plan at present is to self prescribe a small dose of happiness each day... Happiness found in the simple things around me that bring pleasure... By doing this.. I may have the fortitude and attitude to find everything else.

... Pick Your 'Happiness' & Make a Wish for 2011...

A big Thanks to all of you who have kept me company through 2010 and continue on our journey into 2011. And WELCOME to new friends. May we all find a little happiness every day!

Julie b

Happy New Year Julie ~ reading what you wrote was if I was writing it myself. What you have felt and are feeling about this new beginning strikes a deep chord in me. I too am going to start anew and with a greater appreciation for things that bring doses of happiness, no matter how small; they are indeed all important. I think true happiness is found in those small doses. Julie thank you for your email so very much. I've been sick with the flu and just read it today. I intend to write you back promptly.

New Years hugs and wishes for good health, great moments and big memories.

You just have so much to share- your creativity and soul shine through your gorgeous photos, Julie.

I decided that 2011 is my year to pare down, edit and not have so much "stuff." I made a good start today! 1-1-11!

Good on your brother Julie!!
Happiness and ....petals, well I could live on them,
and just think !!I would be skinny and smell like a rose without using Guerlain or Chanel or Jean Patou to name just a few.
I had dinner once with the Guerlain family, back in my prime. They flew me to a wonderful party and I had the most amazing time.
Happy New Year my gorgeous friend,
Don't worry about New Year resolutions, the universe has already worked that out for you. Just enjoy each day and keep a smile on your face. Your Mother will be happy when she see you smiling.

Happy New 2011,
Sending lots of love, happiness and fun,
xxxx Coty

YES! This is what I think we all need to do. In the rush of daily life, we can smile, laugh, LISTEN to someone and stop just for a moment. It can be done...simple. But that simple act can make A HUGE DIFFERENCE in our life and in the other person's life. WELL SAID, WELL SHOWN with this GLORIOUS PHOTOS DEAR JULIE!!! Anita

Dear Julie,

Happiness is often found in small doses, and we tend to overlook the significance of them. Visiting your blog is one dose for me. My goal in the new year is to stay more connected, so I hope to be back much more often!

Hi Julie,
Odd, but, my best dose of happiness is the moment I manage to simplify some part of my life...this morning it was the top shelf in my refrigerator. It had been so busy with holiday guest liquids--milk, diet sodas, chocolate drinks, champagne, pomegranate and orange juices--that could now be reduced, cleared away, or tossed out now that my sweet guests have departed. I removed everything, washed the shelf clean, and put back what will be needed for my next set of guests. Clean. Simple. Ready. See my happy smile :)?

I love your images and sentiments today Julie, although I must admit before reading your text at the bottom I was reminded of Alice in Wonderland in the room where she took a small sip from the bottle and a little nibble from the cake to either grow smaller or larger.

Actually after reading your post it is a bit like that because you do grow larger in 'spirit' when you imbibe happiness and I guess the opposite would be to eat crumbs from the cake of misery which would shrink your essential 'self'!

Either way I wish you a wonderful 2011 and look forward to reading about how your world has expanded with happiness,

Felicity x

Happy New Year!!!

Love the pictures and the advice. I have made a few (small) resolutions and most have to do with remaining open and letting the possibilities continue to wash over me.

And for you I wish faith, prosperity, love, happiness, joy and peace, every day of the year!

Happy new beginnings for 2011. The dandelion photo is exquisite and a perfect reminder to pay attention to the beauty in life that is often fleeting and sometimes can pass us by if we don't catch a glimpse of it by letting it be around us. Cheers.

Love your Rx and I'm going to take a dose of that happiness each and everyday.

I also made no resolutions and didn't even eat black-eyed peas on New Year's Day. A Southern tradition that I've always adhered to; it's supposed to bring luck and fortune, but since that hasn't been working out so well, I thought I'd just wing it this year, lol.
