Tonight my thoughts are with our neighbours in Queensland and northern New South Wales. With all those affected by the flood waters that have ravaged their cities, taking homes and lives in it's path. The scale of the devastation is unfathomable. To give you some concept, the devastated areas equal the size of both France & Germany. Perhaps the worst natural disaster this country has seen. But on a more personal level, many of our bloggers friends in the Brisbane area are preparing for the worst, waiting anxiously as flood levels are expected to peak overnight.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers
Stay Safe

Hi JUlie...I've just posted on this too...I cannot believe what is happening up there...Dzintra♥x
Dear Julie,
We are devasted about what is happening in Qheensland and northern New South Wales. I cannot begin to think what they are going through. I alsways think that it must be awful to have a small amount of water in your home but to be evacuated and to lose all of your most precious possessions and to lose any of their loved ones must be devastating. It looks like a third world country. I saw a family sitting on top of their car and it looked as if they were in the middle of the ocean. Everyone must be so frightened as well.
We are all thinking of everyone in that area and hope that the rain will subside and the clearing up process can begin, although many people will also suffer mentally afterwards.I cannot believe the magnitude of it all.
Wishing that everyone will be safe and sound. XXXX
It's all so hard to take in isn't it? I've been wondering all day how I might cope...nowhere near as well as what I've been seeing from people on the tv all day today I imagine. People are so resilient and optimistic even through all the devastation. I hope they get through the next few days with the same spirit.
have a cousin stuck on a hill near toowoomba with her caravan - but safe !
its a terrible season (again).
When I heard about it ,my heard felt heavy with sorrow ...how horrible!
Praying for the victims of this tragedy!
Hope God will take mercy on all of the suffering people back in Australia.
Love the photo above, Ruby!

I left a comment but I am not sure it posted.

I heard about this devastation on the news last night. It was unbelievable. My thoughts and prayers are with all the people in Australia going through this horrible tragedy. Please let us know through your blog how things are going in Australia. I'm afraid our news in North America can be quite sketchy.

Have been watching from the States. The scale is horrific...
We are keeping you all in our prayers...
Much love to all our Australian friends in this difficult and frightening time.
Adding my thoughts and prayers to yours, Julie.

cheers, Julie, for posting this. my prayers and thoughts are with your friends and fellow countrymen re: this terrible flooding.
We've got a snow storm going right now..., nothing in comparison to the floods of course. Nature events seem to have reached new levels of extreme.
It is just to sad Julie to read the reports of what is happening in Queensland. My heart goes out to all those who are searching for family and friends. You are right, they are in our thoughts around the world.

Oh Julie, In mine too. It is amazing how humanity can band together in crisis and my prayer is that droves and droves come forward in support to help your countrymen/women affected. ~ Blessings, Janet
I heard about the flooding and thought of you and your fellow Aussies. Praying that the worst is over and everyone is safe.
Oh Julie, my heart is with your fellow countrymen and those in south Wales as they face this disaster. Flooding is so scary and flash floods are terrifying. We have them every year here in the States and it never gets easier to see the results.
Thanks for giving us some idea of how large an area this is affecting, I really had no idea it was that widespread. I will be watching the news to keep apprised of the situation and hope the water receded quickly and people can start to put their lives back together.
Hugs and best wishes to all.
It is terrifying and devastating. Saying a prayer for everyone down there!
Que triste..he estado viendo en las noticias....te acompaño en tu sentir. Son horas dramáticas. Besos, Gloria.
Amen

Hey Julie thanks so much again for your comments and email. It is so so unbelievable still. We are so lucky where we are xx Katherine
We've seen on tv the disaster you're facing. You're in our thoughts. Stay safe.
This is unfathomable indeed....the size of FRANCE AND GERMANY BOTH? That is truly hard to imagine. Dearest, I hope you are safe.....do you have loved ones in that area? This is an unusual occurance for this part of the world, isn't it? I hope that each day, some efforts can be made to prevent further devastation, but mostly, that people can get to safer and higher ground...oh dear what a difficult thing to watch....stay well and safe dearest. Anita
Thank you for thinking of us. It's very encouraging
Oh Julie I heard about this on the radio the other night and wanted to write to you about it. I even looked up where Queensland was because I (stupid me) wasn't sure.

I came to check on you. I'm not that great with my geography and I didn't know if this was affecting you personally or not. It looks from what we are seeing here like such a tragedy. Prayers for all who are suffering loss are being sent.
Hi! I came to check on you. I wasn't sure if you were near the flooding or not. I'm so glad you are okay, but my prayers go out to those who aren't.
