... 'Cupid Has Walked Off The Job' ...
.

Yes Ladies & Gentlemen, It saddens me to bring you the news, but as of midday today, reports are coming in that Cupid's wing tipped arrow was damaged when attempting to pierce the inner layers of a hardened heart. It is believed [he] Cupid has laid down his tools and was last seen taking a smoko out behind the Lonely Hearts Club.
.
.

Candid photos, 'exclusive to this network', show him 'laying down on the job'
.
.

.
.

Is that glee we see Ladies & Gentlemen?
.
Some mirth regarding this predicament?
.
.

.
.
He seems to be rolling around, kicking up his heels and having a good old laugh! I suspect he is feeling some relief from the heavy burden he has been carrying all these years. The arduous task of bringing lovers together despite their primal urge to run the other way. As this report goes to air, it is still not known whether this is a temporary walking away from the job, or whether tense negotiations will bring a happy result, and the return of Mr Cupid to his rightful active duties.
.

Our reporters obtained an exclusive interview with Mr Cupid and his only comments were ....
'Let Them Do Their Own Dirty Work'. So there you have it.. brief, but to the point! The situation seems dire for lovers this Valentine's Day!
.

... Breaking Breaking News ! ...
.

News just in ... Mr Cupid HAS returned to the job!! Good news indeed. Looks like Valentine's Day has been saved and Cupid will be knocking on your door soon.
.

As I am not in possession of requited love, unrequited love, secret admirers, nor nasty stalkers, my love for inanimate objects will have to suffice.. oh and my little silver Cupid whose arrow, although broken is still in my possession.
.

Thank you for joining me once again this Silver Sunday and allowing me to indulge my silly side. Don't forget to pop over to see Beth at 'Gypsy Fish Journal' to see who else is entertaining us this sunday....
.
Oh and Happy Valentine's Day everyone.. or feast of San Valentino!! No matter what it may mean to you, have a great day!!

Great post!
Many of us forget the dark side of love, when we are happy, and this is a good reminder... Becuase there is a dark side of love, and we all have experienced it in one way or another.

I hope you´ll have a wonderful day, what ever it means to you =)!

With much love/

Even though I added a pack of copics to my husbands Ebay watching page as a huge hint :-D

This is too cute! My daughter is single and she said she was "being her own Valentine" this year. She was buying herself tulips and chocolate and treating herself well for the day. I think Valentine's Day can take many forms!

Oh dear, Julie,
Poor old cupid. What a day he's been through.
Thank goodness, all was well in the end.
I can imagine that he needs a ciggie now and again. I don't suppose he drinks though. That could cause some really serious problems. He must have to have his wits about him when he's firing his arrows. There could be dire consequences if he hits the wrong person.
Thanks for the funny valentine !! XXXX

FIY - I had mentioned your background was a bit dark for reading the posts... well, I take that back - I think my "eyes" were tired. Your background is part of the charm of your blog.
Hope "cupid" paid you a visit.

Julie, you are so hilarious! I almost fell off the chair laughing. Which isn't really elegant at all, as every time I come here I strive for a bit of personal elegance.

Good grief, 3 days laid up in bed with the world's worst dreaded lurgy (did you pass that on to me ?;-) and I end up nearly choking with laughter at the first blog I read. Well - if Cupid doesn't get me, the laughter will. You've won my heart. My world would be a 'darker' place without your sunshine...

Oh my word....Brighton is a fabulous store with leather purses, gorgeous jewelry, sunglasses, and accessories....I am so sorry you don't havee one, but if you ever fly to the US, they are in most of the major airport terminals. You would love them....not inexpensive...but beautiful things. I learned about them when I worked...they were popular there and now my church girlfriends are all into them. I will have to find my old post about all the jewelry tins...all the pieces come in a collector tin...
Unfortunately, you can view the things on line, but as of yet, you cannot order on line.
I will get those pics for you!! Promise!

Amusing tale. I think he was rolling around laughing since he sees how many times we mess up where love is concerned. Or is that just me?

Hope your Valentines was anything but dark.
