SEA The World
Under A Southern Sky
.
.

The sun is fierce under a southern sky... colours stand bold and true .. and the afternoon sun casts deep shadows stretching out to the horizon... Shadows that can trick the eye in this harsh Australian sunlight..

Shadows of My Mind
.
.
The Sydney Spring is still playing hide and seek.. Playing tricks with my mind!! So I've created my own imaginary spring.. Where sailboats glide through the sand and hopscotch along the shadows.. Where the sea can be golden hued or iridescent blue.. where the eye cannot tell where the sand ends and the sea begins.

Comes To Sydney

This shot was taken at South Cronulla Beach, Sydney on one of our sunny days ..
The shadows are from the towering palms in the park behind me
I only managed a few shots before the camera battery died..
C'est La Vie.. I'll imagine the rest.

Julie,
You are a magnificent photographer! I love these images. And I can't tell where the sand ends in a couple of the photos. Just beautiful.
Have a nice evening.

Never noticed your caption, till I came here.

Seems you stand in a huge window or between pillars.
The see is so still.

Whatever it is, it's beautiful!
I was thinking of you today. Actually even brought you up over coffee with my husband this morning. On the way to the cafe we passed by a gallery and peeked in through the windows. I told him how your photos are so much more artistic and poetic than anything displayed on those walls.

Hi Julie,
Beautiful, beautiful images of the watery world that surrounds you. It's so lovely that our world is topsy turvy, as I can enjoy the Spring through your photographs while I sit here in the UK enjoying the late Autumn !! XXXX

Beautiful, beautiful shots, Julie, up there with my many favourites of yours. It's sometimes a wrench to leave your web page and turn back to work. I think you should do a special Northern Hemisphere Giveaway to bring hope and cheer to those of us who are in the chilly damp.

The watery places in your imagination are so fertile, so rich with trickery... it's a whole other world, an alternate universe under YOUR hat, isn't it Miss Julie? Gorgeous work!

I don't know how you did it but I thought it was sand in that first shot. Loved all the colored ones but it's the B&W ones that really show off the details of light and shadow. Just stunning work and I'm sure took a lot of time.
I'm mesmerized by the lines of shadow on the beach in the second to the last photos!!! very cool.

I so prefer the altered shot (top) to reality! And in a way it's a metaphor to life -I believe we do create our realty.

Hopeful it will be a wonderful Spring weekend in your corner!!

JULIE DEAREST! THANK YOU FOR VISITING WITH ME! And that color blue....OH YEAH! I was always a PERIDOT GREEN LOVER, and I still love that color, but the AQUA and TURQUOISE and TIFFANY BLUE has just captured me. My décor in the house is mostly sage green, but with our new addition and renovation of my studio, I am going with white, grays and TURQUOISE...your lovely photos of the sea and sky perfectly show off the natural beauty of this color that just sets myself at rest, a much needed feeling after long and hard days at work teaching!

Enjoy your weekend dearest; I am so enjoying your blog and kindness!
