Failure To Blog: Twice In A Blue Moon

To The Moon Alice
Twice In A Blue Moon

Failure to blog is about right and now I've missed posting both Full Moons in August ..So.. Here's two versions of the same moon to keep you thrilled and riveted to this blog space! [or.. in reality...I couldn't decide which I preferred!]

Around about this time last year I was wandering the path on the way to Atrani on the beautiful Amalfi Coast, as I happened upon this interesting building propping up the rugged landscape. Sadly I'm not there this year but hopefully again one day.

Sorry I haven't been visiting or posting. Just no free time right now, but thanks to those of you that continue to pop in or email and let me know I'm still part of your world!! It warms my little heart!!

Have A Wonderful Week

Atrani: The Water's Edge

If It's Tuesday: This Must Be Atrani

[or.. The Water's Edge]

Just a short scenic walk from Amalfi lies the pretty village of Atrani... It is here I stayed in a backpacker's hostel sixteen years ago.. and here I returned to relive that first glimpse of 'Santa Maria Maddalena'  as you turn the corner on the walk from Amalfi.  Some things never change and the beauty of this scene still captivated my heart and imagination.

I had little time to wander around but enjoyed every minute.  Especially conversing with the local shop keepers. They were keen to know if I thought Atrani had changed in the past sixteen years.. and I assured them it was exactly as I remembered it.. I was quite proud of that little conversation. Held completely in Italian from my rusty memory of two weeks at language school,  sixteen years prior.. It's these conversations that are always the most memorable.. Making a connection even with my poor Italian.

Leaving the village I turned back and took this shot..  I love the gentleman with his shadowy presence. Standing at the water's edge.. Is he contemplating life? Or just if a swim is in order?

Have A Great Week All

Positano: Aqua Fro Fro

Aqua Fro Fro

That's what I like to call the pretty aqua sea froth caused by the jet boat engines as I travelled from Positano to Capri.. .. Better effects than photoshop I say! .. In fact all these images are 'as is' with the exception of the sky of course.  Positano actually doesn't have lettered signs floating in the sky!! Funny about that!! .. Although in  it's not unusual to see a pink sky at night!!

We've had a few pink skies here in Sydney this week... Monday's temps were over 38c!!!! [that would be 100 for you Fahrenheit Folk]. Normal temps for us in January or Feb, but November?  This one day heatwave of ours was just a tad early and got me thinking about how much nicer 38c is when you are on a boat on the Mediterranean!! What do you think?

Wish You Were Here?
Me Too!!!

Have A Great Week All

Sorry I'm so slow to visit everyone lately
Just the way it is sometimes!!

:SEA The World: Italy

SEA The World

Live Large

My heart is aching to travel again.. Aching to venture away from my small cloistered life and run free in a world of possibilities .... Aching to once again become a child of the world not bound by convention & expectation. To once again feel the power of hope and potential. Truth becomes fluid, Can't becomes Can, Hate becomes Hope and anything is possible.. All is past.. All is future... All is now... Life is waiting.

This recent mood comes from thinking about our friend Ange who is about to embark on what might be a life changing experience .. Any travel is life changing... sometimes small changes noticeable only to ourselves .. and sometimes paradigm shifts that forever change our molecular structure. When I get in these moods I go down to the sea.. and look out to the horizon and know that the world is still out there... waiting for me to jump!!

All this yearning has inspired me to play with my travel shots. Travel shots of the sea. I might make this a new series..'SEA The World', starting with Italy [of course!!! Let's hope I don't abandon it. Although who could abandon the sea?

Dedicated to Ange

Travel Safe & Live Large

And to everyone else
Have a lovely weekend
