This was going to be a post about my little Penguins!! Penguin Books that is.. but as you can see the roses took over... I don't mind their imperfect, slightly mangled look.. they still smell just as sweet, so I have decided to embrace their imperfection.. The irony is ... I couldn't decide which imperfect image of imperfect roses to post.. So I posted them all!!
.
I'll bring you more of these book covers in a later post.. but for now.. as it is Sunday [and the noisy neighbours are making me bonkers!!! AGAIN!!! ] and the sun is finally shining in old Sydney Town.. I'm going to go out to smell the roses!!

These are the most sublime colour Julie.
I can almost smell their beauty and you know the old saying

"Perfume always lingers on the hand that gives roses."

Thank you for sharing,

Felicity x

Such lovely roses and I don't find them imperfect at all. They are so lovely I can smell them all the way across the waters to here. Thank you.

LOvely roses. Funny, I picked a bunch of red ones today that were less than perfect. I just decided too pick them and bring them in regardless. We must be on the same page! Enjoy the Sydney sun.

Hi dear Julie
These images are amazing - you are creating such beauty with your lens.
Come and visit as I've posted roses as well!!!
Neighbours - Guy Fawkes was 5th November and unfortunately it's still legal to have crackers and bonfire nights at home here - crazy I know. I wouldn't mind just the one night but they go on for about a month.....
I must be getting old and intolerant..
hugs
Shane

Is the accordian man STILL AT IT? You poor girl, you!!!! IMPERFECTION...ahhhhh, you know, it is a thing of beauty. Your roses with their little holes, LOVELY. The Penguin books with their vintage patina, SMASHING. And those pewter or aged metal vases are perfect the way they are. Beautiful perspective dearest and I forgot that you are celebrating your SPRING AND SUMMER SOON! BRAVO! Enjoy this "perfect day!"

This just proves that we all have our imperfections on the outside, it is the sweet smell that lies beneath that defines our character, and when we are good, our beauty shines through, just as it does in these roses.

Sea, I mean see, you when I get back from Sanibel Island. Only hours from now I'll be on my way!

I have always preferred imperfection to great beauty. Thankfully my husband does too :-) You did a lovely job of capturing the texture of the petals, Julie; they look so very soft.

so exquisite...nature is always perfectly as it should be.....a perfect world would be so intimidating. It's the gap in the teeth, the lopsided smile, the laugh lines, that show character. The tattered rose petals tell their tale of your beautiful garden and the Sydney sunshine...wish I could smell them too! Enjoy the delights of spring...( I can almost smell them!) Lovely to see what is happening on the other side of the world! best, Susan

Beautiful.

Husband found a perfect red rose stuck to a holly bush when we were walking the dog on Hampstead Heath this morning, and now I find you've posted about roses. A co-incidence or a sign? xx

There is no beauty without imperfection. Lovely. I wish you lived next door & I could swipe, uh, ask, for one or two. Mimph. Perhaps I'll find the proverbial last bloom on a walk. xoxo

Ok flaunting your roses while ours are all cut back and ready for their long naps. But I'll forgive you because it gives me hope that before I know it they'll be back again.
You've captured them beautifully Julie and such a perfect shade of pink. I hope your enjoying your Spring and look forward to seeing more of these roses. I took too few picures of mine this year and mine get holes in them too.haha

Imperfectly, I have been slow to visit - you must forgive me. The bus was late. Roses don't suit perfection, do they - they look too showy and blowsy, whereas 5 dead blooms in an unassuming jar have such a faded crinkly grace. Or yours, from a genuine garden, by the look of them, rather than a refrigerated lorry. I used to love Guy and read all his works. Distracted by Blogtopia now, covers will suffice. xxx from your somewhat disorganized friend

Oh, but I don't see inperfection...just sweet beauty!
