Full Moon - March 1st - Autumn
.
Oh too sad.. it is the first day of Autumn here in Australia and Mother Nature has flicked the switch on summer! Yes that program has finished.. change the channel! I woke this morning to a rainy cold day! A good ten degrees/c cooler than yesterday!! I quite like the soft rainy days. Even a good storm lifts my spirits. All perfect for relaxing and snoozing, but I'm not ready to give up summer yet.
.
The rain may have been brought by the Tsunami Warnings we had yesterday [arising from the sad and devastating earthquake in Chile]. Mind you i slept through it all and didn't realise until Dzintra emailed me. Looking back every full moon in recent months La Bella Luna has brought with her stormy skies, high tides and a bevy of emotions to toy with us humans. Our summer days have been yo-yo-ing between absolute stinkers then quick drops in temp, so maybe she has a bit more left in her.. I sincerely hope so!!
.
Now some of you may wonder what happened to the February Full Moon. Well here in Australia.. there wasn't one. I guess we overindulged with two full moons in January!!! So .. fast forward to March.. and no sign of her lovely face, once again hiding behind the clouds
.
She did however put on her best performance all this past week. Glowing brighter than usual high in the northern skies, she left a tangible presence, playing shadows with the trees and shining a brilliant amber hue as she made her descent towards our friends in the west.
.
My Bella Luna photos today were taken last month. As she seems to be in an intimate two step with the sea at present, I thought I'd show you some of those photos also.

So that's why I love her so!! Miss sign of Virgo that I am (along with Jeanne). Your photos are as beautiful as she is and I'd love to have a big poster taped to my window so I could see it like that every night. Keep right away from those Tsunamis please PLEASE!
I love your moon posts most of all, Julie. Enjoy your early autumn!
Ruby, I guess you can't have the beautiful summer warmth and without the autumn rains. Your full moon pictures are beautiful though. When we have a full moon here the crazies come out, you can just blame it on the moon! Do the people around you change because of your full moon? I actually love a rainy day, I find them really beautiful!
Congrats on your Hockey win!
Hi Julie, your moon pictures are stunning. If I had come across one out of context I would have taken it for a painting - Italian renaissance?! My favourites are To the Moon and Bella Luna. Funnily enough, yesterday evening driving home from the cinema with the children we were all in ecstasy over a beautiful pale yellow full moon trying to get out from behind very dark clouds.
I'm afraid however that it's hard to feel too sorry for you Aussies going into your "autumn". It was zero degrees here again this morning, and the car doors were iced shut, and the horses drinking water was frozen over - so count your blessings!!
Speak to you soon
Sharon
Julie,
Those are absolutely beautiful! Your words and pictures are just the “bomb”. Love them.
We have had an Aussie in our mitts for almost 2 weeks. He left yesterday. Maybe that’s why I feel close to my blogging Australian buddies.
smiles, alice
"When the Moon is Full" truly speaks to me ... no, actually it whispers, telling me the moon will always look over me, keeping me safe and secure.
It's Camberra,I now .Some newly married friends will spend their honeymoon in Australia and talking about his trip we realized that most people think Sydney was the capital .... just a little joke at the end of the post.
Wonderful # 1 of your pictures ...... incredibly beautiful to be captured in a small area all the beauty, strength and attraction of the sea.Congratulations.
They say that Australia is beautiful and and my husband would love to know but .... is so far.
Have a great week too
Hugs
Cecilia
Julie, if you ever decide to sell your photography, you'd do the world a favor. Your images are some of the loveliest I've come across.
I love today's photos. As you mourn the ending of summer, I'm so excited that today is March...and I know that our frigid temperatures can't last much longer.
Have a great week!
Yes, I agree with Angie.
And now--as I wrote to you, it can't just be over-over, right? (Summer) will be back when I'm on the laptop & can see these properly. The desktop is not cooperating.
ciao, m'dear
The feeling, of waking up in the morning, looking out the window, knowing the fall is on it´s way, is terrible...
Thinking of you! Just wanted you to know.
Hugs/

Dear Julie,
Such lovely photographs of the moon in all her glory. A study in blue.
Now that Autumn is on it's way for you, Spring is hopefully around the corner for us Brits and, I can't wait.
Embrace the Autumn, Julie... I know that we shall see some beautiful photographs of it in your posts. No pressure !! XXXX
Oh, so beautiful. Here we are over here impatient for spring.
Thank you so much for your visit and lovely comments. I'm so pleased to be part of your fan club.
I left you a little something chez moi. It's only a tiny expression of awe and appreciation.
Warm regards,
Tish
its so amazing... sometimes i feel like we are all living in the same area... climate, season... and then i am awakened by something like this..we are so delighted with spring arriving soon... but can understand your feelings as summer ends... but the coolness in the air is always fun ... i love the fall here in seattle.
have a wonderful week... xx
Your photos are extraordinary, Ruby!
Dear Julie,
I have spent 21 days in the hospital... I had internet... regresaar and view your world, your beautiful world cure me heart, Lourdes
hello, beautiful Julie being Ruby, your pictures prove your beauty. I've never seen you and probably never will but I see your beauty by your pictures and words.
Happy Autumn...still, there will be Indian Summer days...so don't call Summer finished yet!
You know I now call the moon...Julie's moon!!!
I just can't look at it without thinking of you. Though when I'm looking at it's not at the same time you are. It's still such a great conection we share together.....well I guess with the whole world:)) haha
The editing you do is amazing. The movement in the 2nd pic looks almost like mountains. The colors you get are spectacular.
You should start an etsy shop selling them.
Gosh here you are taking some well deserved time off and I want you to work!!!!
Ok I'm off to work myself!!
xo...Carole
ps...so sad about Chile!
Hi Julie gorgeous photos.
Seeing the Canadians win gold in the hockey was amazing
Alison
You know I'm a bit crazy getting ready for the BIG move and it's only going to get worse for the next month, so I'm glad I grab a quick visit to see your beach photos from the previous post and these of the moon ‚ they make me SWOON!
Sorry to hear your summer is ending, but it means it will be arriving here soon — now it's your turn to be jealous!
Hugs
Julie - beautiful as always...thank you for your comment today - it made me smile, as your lovely images always do...happy week to you....x
I love your bella luna post Julie! Stunning photos and words! You're in Autumn and we are waiting for Spring!
A nice new week to you!
Vale
sadly it was too overcast to see the moon in the mountains. YOu are right about the change in season..its as if the switch has been pulled overnight. I even had a heater on!
Gosh, Julie, I nearly started howling at the computer screen. These images are just amazing. The one with the moon covered with silvery clouds really brings out my inner Werewolf. Oh....stream of consciousness..now thinking about Hugh Jackman....Your photos just give on so many levels! Hope you have a wonderful week and get to cozy up with this crazy weather. Perfect weather for a trip to The Society Inc...if only the kids were on holidays...we'll get there, right? Meredy xo.
I was tossing and turning the other night, and then I found out why, full moon! Back in the Pyrenees it is so bright sometimes you can literally leave the curtains open and moon bathe! Once again love the pictures and I hope you have an Indian summer, now that you have some time off.
XX
Stunning..lovely...wonderful! I think I have actually run out of words to describe the excitement when I see your photos Julie. You made me laugh...To The Moon Alice! My Dad used to say that all the time. The Honeymooners was a great show!
Now I am off to read about the moon in Virgo...
Have a good one:)
Jeanne x
you are a truly brilliant photographer! i have never seen
more beautiful photos of the moon, and i have had a
long love affair with her.
that's weird that i think of the moon as 'her'.
The world is indeed a little brighter with a blog....and it is really bright with wonderful friends like you and your incredible artistic photography! Love these Julie....seriously...you should sell them! I would love to hang one on my wall...They would make lovely cards...So very beautiful!

Hi Julie. You do have a way with words and your photos are astounding!!!
I hope your upcoming winter will not be as harsh as the one we have had this winter. I am so ready for spring. I love a good storm also. It really does lift the spirits...julie
Hello Divinely Talented Julie!
Always love seeing your full moon posts! All your stunning posts for that matter...but there is something really special about LUNA.
Hoping your Autumn continues to creep in slowly without taking Summer away in a flash!
~Melissa
What divine images. I saw the moon last night, no clouds hiding it in Melbourne, and I instantly thought of you.!!! I also think, every time I see a full moon, oh so that explains a lot. You know how everyone is so nutty around full moon time.
I can't wait for winter, I love it. And it has been pretty rubbish summer here. That is good I guess
xoxoxoxo
Oh Julie I'm sad too that the Summer is fading away...and today is the first time the sun came out since the weekend...At least Autumn is my second favourite Season...at least I know there will be more sunny days ahead...right? Have a great evening...Dzintra♥x
Great moon here last night too Julie! Freezing cold though, I cranked the electric blanket up to 9 for a good hr. before jumping into bed! I soooo don't want Summer to go.
Millie ^_^
Did you see the crazy rain on the Today Show in QLD. I laughed as they were needing to talk louder and louder to speak over the rain! xx

Love, love that first photo..., the endless and beautiful movement of the sea! Sorry that you're heading toward winter. I generally love the seasons, just hope to one day have a shorter and milder winter.
Julie - magical, dreamy, ethereal photos. To visit your blog is like a sweet, dream-like trip to the beyond. Your photos would look so fabulous blown up as huge wall murals. After seeing several in design magazines of the sea, I'm hooked on having one grace my living space on day. Hard to believe Autumn is lapping at your heels. The hours have turned into weeks and months. Hope you are doing real well Julie? Thinking of you and hoping you are treating yourself like the Queen you are!?! xx deb
Julia thanks for the visit. I love your photos of our beloved moon. The goddess Luna is magical. I sometimes wish we could see her every night.
It sounds like it is time to drag out the sweaters and sweatshirts. Don't forget the fuzzy slippers. We are headed slowly into spring here and I am not really looking forward to the hot summers. If it would rain more it would be nicer. Complain when it rains and complain when it doesn't. Hard to please me!
Just wandered over via Slices of Beauty. I love art, I love Italy (have been there many times) and I love the moon (even though I can't sleep when its full moon!). I feel at home here - thank you very much! Now, I looked all over your blog (forgive me if i missed it) do you sell your art work? somewhere?
I look forward to following you. ox Mon
They remind me of wonderful lovely watercolors....smiles.
Love your moon pictures... YOUR PHOTOS ARE ALWAYS SO POETIC

I LOVE your website and your photos- they are absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Kathy
I tried to send a comment and it vanished..
Great post, Bella Luna, hummm has me thinking about that Chile earth quake. They say the earth was thrown off it's axis somewhat...
spooky,
yvonne
I was sure they were paintings. No? Well, they are gorgeous photos. You are a very talented photgrapher and artist.
Julie, ou are feeling my pain! Can you believe the change in weather literally overnight? I shall spend the next six months in a state of grim acceptance while I wait for the Spring blossoms to poke their little heads through!
(But I do love a good hot chocolate and a mohair rug so I suppose all is not lost!)
Love Ang x
Bella Julie,
I am swimming in the amazing beauty of these images! What a gift for imagery and words you have!
Love,
Marjorie
Too dang beautiful for words..how do you do those...awesome ..Cynthia
My gosh, Erin was right! Your photos are stunning!!!
154 posts. I now have to view 154 posts because I do not wish to miss a single one.
Erin of Erin's art and gardens and Carole of Maynard Greenhouse guided me to you and spoke almost with reverence of your site. I now understand.
I am thrilled to be here.
Suzan
Wow, these are truly enchanting images..colors so dreamy!! What a delightful post..enjoyed the way you framed this with your words! (I'm looking at this via my phone..still can enlarge the photos-no prob, but this will be worth another visit on my regular computer!
Aloha, Regina-
All seasons are beautiful :)
Always love seeing your photo paintings, Julie! The second one really spoke to me - as did this last, gorgeous moon!
And thank you for popping over to visit me - it is such a joy to hear from you!
Hugs,
Zuzu
First off, thank you for the congrats! There was silence in the cities and towns as the game was on...it was nearly eery...but as soon as we won - wow! Everyone was hugging, shouting, and so happy! On the other hand, the U.S.A team did wonderfully as well - very very strong game!
These images are gorgeous, Julie! I love the moon as well, but have never seen it portrayed as beautifully as this before...
I wish you a wonderful (and cozy) weekend :)
xo,
Sarah
Hi Julie! I hope your summer is not completely over yet! We have a sunny day here today but it's still really cold. I can't wait for warmer weather and even better I can't wait to move so I don't have to deal with winter anymore. I love all your photos. You have such a creative mind! I'm a bit jealous! Have a great weekend!Jennifer:)
I so adore your photo art...stunning indeed my friend. xo
