Charmed and Bejewelled
.
The Lighter Side of Love
.
.
.

Howdy everyone. After my bizarre take on Valentines Day, I promised I would follow up with 'The Lighter Side of Love' ...so here it is .. 'Charmed and Bejewelled'. Small tokens of love! Whether bought for ourselves, gifts received or family jewels, these simple items bring us joy and remind us of the people and places we love.

.

.
.
Cathy Penton Charms
.

As most of you will know I have been collecting Cathy Penton charms for some time, so today I thought I'd share some with you. I forgot I had so many, this is just a sampling of my greedy happy collection. Beautiful silver charms graced with images that remind us of what we love and cherish. These pocket size inspirations serve as a reminder to pursue my dreams and fill my world with beauty. My favourites are the little itty bitty ones. Happiness in a centimeter!

.
.
Vacation Memories
.

Also on the agenda today are some of my silver rings.. I like to buy jewellery when I travel [how unusual!!!] .. Happy reminders. A favourite pair of earings bought in Phuket can be a great lift at the beginning of a working day. A small ritual to brighten the outlook!... The square mother of pearl ring was bought in Bali, the oval one was my mother's and the remaining two rings purchased in Roma! Constant reminders of a special day, favourite city or relaxing vacation!
.
.

.
.
.
Family Momentos
.
And finally .. the most precious tokens.. vintage watches belonging to family members and my Grandfather's duty whistle from Sydney Firebrigade. Small momentos of those dear to me.
.
.
.

.
.
.

So there you go.. little pieces of love to brighten the everyday. Thanks to Beth of 'Gypsy Fish Journal' for hosting Silver Sunday. Pop over there and see who else is entertaining us this sunday....
.
.
And Happy Mothers Day to those in the UK
I'm off to sleep.. see you all on the morrow!!

Everything is so pretty. It's all hand made silver. That pink stone caught my eye. Is that a tiny purse mirror on top with roses? Have a nice weekend, I have sunshine at last.

Hey Julie, they are all so beautiful!! I love the keys too. I love the symbolism of keys when decorating and they are such great objects particularly the big old guys with their decorative tops. That whistle is so special and so rare. I have a thing for whistles too, I have had one on my key ring for over 20 years.Have a lovely Sunday I am doing nothing and loving it...cheers Katherine xx

Greetings Ms. Julie,
You have some lovely silver souvenirs. But especially touching are your family heirlooms. I can imagine how dear your grandfather's duty whistle is to you. I treasure my grandfather's tobacco pouch, as well as some early pen and ink drawings he made of insects. These mean the world to me.

Dear Julie, Thank you so much for your visit and kind comments.. I so admire and aspire to be a great photographer like yourself. Yesterday I took picture of some of my collections and was amazed at how much I enjoyed it..Made a huge mess in the house though, stuff all over the place..Its fun to arrange things and try to get the best in composition etc. Would have never considered doing this before blogging came into my life..My days are now filled with creative pursuits..how wonderful.. Love your friends charms and the way you presented thme..Just Lovely. Cynthia

Julie, you have tempted me before with these charms. I love their portability. Also the pieces from Roma...it's so true, just the act of putting on earrings or other small piece of jewellry/token from a trip &/or person evoke memories forever...& can help start off the day well. Or just touching a necklace, or other token helps in a tight spot. (Hence, "charm" - no?)

Giulia & I wave virtual pink paw-pad & hand, respectively. We're so happy to see so many comments to our friend 'round the world. xoxoxo

Hi Julie - thank you for sharing your treasured items. I so love your old family watch and your grandfather's very special whistle. How wonderful is that to have and cherish? I think buying a piece of jewelry no matter how small while on vacation is a great idea. I purchased a ring while on vacation in Dublin and I cherish it right up there with my wedding ring. It reminds me each day of those wonderful memories. And before I forget, Cathy's charms are so unique and so beautiful. Hope you are doing good Julie and happy as a clam? Thinking of you xx

Dear Julie,

What a joy to see and read. The mere idea that looking at an object sparks emotion and souvenirs (as the French say for memories, which for me always makes me think of the two in one souvenir/memory which you have so beautifully portrayed today.)

Thank you as always for giving us something unexpected and lovely.

xo,
Tish
