BLACK & WHITE Sunday: Pass the Sugar Honey

Well I am here to inform you good things DO come from going to the dentist

You never know when or where serendipity may step in and brighten your day. For me it was the last 2 visits to the dentist. Both times he was running late, which gave me the opportunity to wander through the local ‘Vinnies’ next door. Like leading a child to the candy jar! [possibly why I need the dentist!]

So although I cannot call it ‘junking’ like some of you gals, I did find some lovely and affordable treasures, and even made some new friends in the store.

So in honour of Black & White Sunday’s tradition of simplicity, here are some B&W photos of my bounty. Reminding us all of The Simple Art of Taking Tea! And all the more sweeter when shared with a friend.

My Photo

Just an additional note. I seem to be having many blonde moments lately and find my comments aren't turning up on your blogs. I suspect I am not waiting for the 'word thingy' to pop up so I'm not ignoring you, just being Blonde! [which I am]

NB The 3 small images are photos I took of my adored charms, purchased from Cathy Penton's Blog Shoppe [here]. I hope to do a full post on her treasures in the near future, but meanwhile pop over and have a look for yourself.

Hi Julie,

I see I've got some catching up to do! I've been away from the net for a while and decided to read your posts by starting with the most recent one.
And I see you have spend your unplanned free time well: that is a lovely teaset indeed!

Have a good beginning of the new week,

Angela.

Oh gosh Julie you had me going at the beginning of this post. I thought you were going to tell us that the Dentist had hit on you for a date! But no, much better than that, you found these beautiful pieces @ Vinnies. Your photography is glorious, great job as usual.

Great photos. I think my favorite is the first one. Its simplicity allows the beauty of the teapot to shine through. Lovely!

P.S. Hopefully you are finished with the dentist for a while. Definitely NOT my favorite place to go.

Julie, love the tea set - I am sure that the tea tastes much nicer out of it. It takes me back to the days when I lived in India and every afternoon tea was served by a man with white gloves in a beautiful siver tea pot. I have to admit that it has never tasted the same since!

Seerendipity... a fav word of mine!!! Jealous me Julie, those are some mighty lovely treasures from your "antiquing" moments courtesy of someone else's molar issues :).
I love your eye when it comes to well, everything you take. You reek of artistry dear friend. Why must you be so damn far away..perhaps I'll hit the Powerball numbers.
Blonde moments... thanks for the extra giggle. Happy Monday to you.

Your so funny I was wondering where you were going with this. Your images are stunning and I love the reflection you got off the silver. I was trying to see if I could see you in it.lol!!! I've been drooling over Cathy Penton's blog for awhile and recognized it before you mentioned it.

I have a thing for old teapots (although my dentist isn't that bad to look at either ...). This one is quite elegant and the silvery colour really stands out in these lovely b&w pictures. Just beautiful to look at.

Such lovely still life's. Tea is a winter pleasure for me entirely..., on a cold afternoon or evening. And that 'word thingy' I have noticed that too..., and not waited either.

Hello Dear Julie & happy Monday!
I must admit, I have a huge crush on tea pots. I would love to collect them if I could stay in one spot for more than a few years. I adore your precious finds. Lucky girl! Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving your gracious comments. I so appreciate it. It seems harder & harder to keep up these days. My son leaves for college tomorrow, so it's been a sad day. I love our new profile picture. You were the most adorable child :D Have a happy week. Xxx deb

ooh love the tea sets, so good in b/w

now be very careful, you are combining dentist visits with Vinnies, the start of the addiction I would say, ;-)
