Once Upon A Tea Time
Once upon a time in the land of Everything Is As It Should Be, there lived a set of frosted tea glasses... Six little colourful cousins who enjoyed the daily ritual of tea time.. Herbal teas were a favourite in this land and afternoons would be spent sipping a fresh brew of minty goodness. Just like another story of old, the tea glasses all existed in pairs.. There were Mr & Mrs Sapphire Blue who proudly rubbed shoulders with the likes of Mr & Mrs Regal Red. Yes these couples were bold and brash and flaunted their colours at every opportunity. Bold and boisterous they claimed to be the best in the land. But the prettiest of them all were the Snow White Sisters.. A quiet pretty pair , dressed in understated frosted white and adorned with filigree and rims of gold. The sisters spent every waking moment together and shared their beauty with all eyes that befell them .. Yes all was good in the land of tiny tea glasses, all the little inhabitants coexisted in peace.
The evil wicked Queen soon learned of their colourful gatherings from which she was omitted. Consumed with anger and jealousy, she banished the Sapphires and Reds to a distant land. It was a violent act of colour envy I'm sure as she allowed the Snow White Sisters alone to remain. Yes as long as they behaved quitely, they could reside in her kingdom. No longer would there be parties for six, just sedate peppermint teas sipped by the sisters in quiet moments. The sisters were sad to see their colourful cousins leave, but took heart and comfort in the company of each other. Rarely a moment would pass when they weren't by each other's side. Alas.. fate had different plans. One dark and harrowing night, as the sisters partook in their daily absolutions, the unthinkable happened. One slipped and fell, unable to catch her balance she shattered upon the floor and was reduced to a pile of frosted white shards that no amount of superglue could render undone. Overcome with grief the remaining sister vowed never to partake in tea again and would spend the rest of her days wearing a single tea rose as a shrine to her beloved departed.

[Texture Tuesday]
This week's Texture Tuesday Challenge is to photograph a favourite Coffee or Tea Cup. I meant to share a few more of my Italian Espresso Cups. Of course, me being me, I went in a different direction. Personally I blame Kim Klassen's lovely 'Luminous' Texture of which I still can't get enough. Pop over and view other Texture Tuesday's Entries at Kim's blog ... 'Kim Klassen Cafe'
I've had so much fun the past few weeks with Texture Tuesday, I've forgotten to post my 'IF IT'S TUESDAY' travel posts. Maybe next week I'll try and combine the two.. Just need to see what the challenge is..
Have a great week everyone
Be Happy!!!

Beautiful images.
Oh my! And was this in a land of warm sands and crescent moons, just outside the medina? Theses photos are heartbreakingly beautiful. Perfection. Right down to the tea(r) stained backgrounds.

That is such a sad and pathetic story. Poor little lonely tea glass.
On another note, though, isn't the name "tea rose" perfectly delightful? Tea is beautiful and roses are beautiful, so I guess it has to work. It just conjures up so many lovely images.
tea roses in a tea glass: perfect. Loved the story :)
Lovely. I just popped over to Kyms website, it looks lovely too.
SO PRETTY! Love this texture, must find out about it! But YOUR photos are always something to look at! Have a great day :)
Enchanted. By your story and illustrations. And saddened. That one of your Snow Whites crashed and burned. However, working as a vase is a brilliant way for the one left behind to live out her days.
Delightful post, Julie!
OMG aren't you the clever one! This IS FABULOUS JULIE! Oh, let us bask in each other's presence of creativity!!!!
BE WELL AND LOVE ALL THOSE AROUND YOU!!! Anita
I love the story that accompanied the image, so creative. Beautiful.
A beautifully written tale...as always. Tea roses are my passion, I am in love with their scent, their soft colors, their history. They are very demanding of my time and quite capricious but well worth my endless care.
Can I just say I want to live in the land of Everything Is As It Should Be?
Please?
Pretty please?
Pretty as these photos please?
very creative. Loved the iced tea cup...the rose was so soft. Great ideas! Happy Tues.

Yes on the subject of posts you have forgotten..what happened to Silver Sunday...ha. I loved your story of those sisters and their wonderful land...I would love to spend an afternoon in their company. I have a pair of green gals...what should I name them?..the Miss Emerald Greens doesn;t sound right. I will forever think of your story now when I use them...The funny thing is I used one only last week for a small arrangement of flowers and as I took it off the shelf and left the one on its own I said to it "You are the chosen one", ha Good to know I am not the only one talking/creating lives for glasses ha. Tell us another story please please. xxx
The story and rose are beautiful. I'd like to paint it. Seems to have such a softness and mystery.
Can you believe the number one Monster in the world was eliminated. I guess there are no Patriots in the USA What woosies, afraid of reprecussions I guess, let others carry the flag.
