FOOTNOTES: I have not edited these images other than to trim the edges. The wonderful 'patina'.. if a photo can have 'patina'... is from both the plane window and just good old fashion age!! [photos NOT mine!! haha]

I will be adding more photos to this post... just run out of time at present...

That mountain range is gorgeous. Love how you captured the plane. My first flight was in 1991 and I once flew with an old propeller plane in China, which was very noisy!

How is it that you never flew on a plane until 1990?
Lovely photos!

I don't fly...never have. I love to travel, but having some claustrophia issues, I can't imagine what would get me on a plane. So, while the sights look amazing in your photo...the plane looks pretty scary to me! At least I'm seeing the sights through your eyes.

May I now admit that I am a closet Kiwi who is feeling a little homesick all of a sudden (what - between Sydney and Chch all in one sitting)! It is truly your photos that are the remarkables!

What wonderful scenery, Julie. How exciting on your 1st/2nd flight and in a lite plane as well. They can be quite scary, but with a Rolls Royce engine (she says with British pride), you were quite safe. You were obviously very relaxed, as the photographs are up to your usual high standard and are wonderful to look at.You can just imagine someone flying that plane, in leather flying hat and goggles( don't worry...I know you're not that old. The photographs just have a vintage look about them !!!!)XXXX

Goodness me what a great flight that would be. I have done that Christchurch to Queenstown drive a few times and also driven up the Remarkables in summer. The South Island of NZ really is one of the best places in the world. I could easily live there... xoxo
