IF IT’S TUESDAY: This must be Samos

Welcome to the Greek Islands and the island of Samos

*

My first introduction to the Greek Islands in 1993 was arriving at the island of Samos after travelling by boat from Kuşadası,Turkey. This photo was taken my first day walking around the waterfront, soaking in the sights. Probably not long after indulging in my first taste of REAL Greek Yoghurt with honey.!! hmmmm heaven! and also before the climb of 200 or so steps back to my room! This is one of the few photos I have from this island, most likely because of all the steps!! Suffice to say, we didn’t stay there long before travelling on to Mykonos. I have already posted on Mykonos [here].. but I will see if I can dig up some more for you.

Ciao Julie

Now the good news is I found my stash of travel photos. A few hundred or so!! The bad news is the new scanner is not working and I am under the influence of FLU! so must go back to bed. More later.

Ciao Julie

Wonderful, more places to visit. I love the first photo with the boat...I like the hint of color.

Greek yogurt is one of my favorite foods. Our local grocery is finally stocking it. I used to stock up when I drove into St. Louis.

Feel better. I'm under the weather too, but I got medicine yesterday, so I'm hopeful.

Hurrah...you found your photographs, Julie.
Was this one amongst them.
Another triumph...the water looks like mercury or some other liquid metal. The big one is my favourite.
I have greek yoghurt every morning and I have manuka honey on it.It is supposed to ward off all sorts of things and is very good for your well-being.
You should get some...it might help to get rid of the 'flu !!!! XXXX

Sorry about the flu. Hope you will feel better soon. Although they are very close to Turkey I havent been to Greek Islands except Mykonos. I think I am a rather strange traveller. I have travelled close to 1/3 of the world but I havent visited Italy and Spain as well as all the Greek islands yet..

Hi Julie
Your photos of Samos are beautiful. I look forward to seeing more. Travel, even vicariously, is wonderful!

Thank you for visiting with me today. I, too, love to watch the moon over the sea. St. Augustine...my refuge...is on the Atlantic. There we see the reflection of the rising moon. Glorious!
Hope you feel better SOON!

Poor dear, how terrible to have the flu in the spring, when every fiber in your body must be screaming "Go! Plant! Beach! Enjoy!"

I have to say I'm very impressed with your scanner artistry... the images you're creating are ethereal to the max. I feel like I'm looking into your dreams.

Warmly,
~Julia

Yes I would love to go there.... for the honeymoon we are yet to have! Instead, we've been inviting our lovely Greek friends over for cook-a-thons. Delish!
On another note, four years ago I had a cold - pure honey and lemon was very soothing...and sleep.
Good night Julie. Hope everything is better in the morning.

Julie your blog is the only vacation I seem to get. The photo is surreal. I don't know how you do it but what a talent you have. I know I am repeating myself, but it is worthy saying once again.

Hope you are on the mend kiddo? My husband is sick with the flu as well. It is making the rounds in wide sweeping paths already. All the best to you Xx deb
