Well it is raining and overcast here today so I don't think I will manage any clever new Black & White images to show you... instead I have re-cycled an old one that evokes CALM.
Today I thought I would show you a quiet Venice.
There is another Venice, a still and quiet Venice ,
I found in the waters of the Lagoon and surrounding islands.
It was here I found stillness and relaxed into the rhythm and pace of life.
Even if only for a moment
The above are all segments of the same photo [here]. A little grainy but that is why I like them. Click on any one for a larger format.
If you want to see the colourful, glamorous Venice [who wouldn't!], clever Millie from the ‘Laurel Hedge’ posted a fabulous fantasy tour to Venice this weekend. If you want a mini vacation of the mind, head over [there] and enjoy! You can also find more amazing photos of Venice at 'French Essence' by taking this link [here].
I am posting today for ‘Black & White Sunday’.
This blogging event is hosted by the charming Anne Marie from ‘Na-Da Farm Life’. The theme is to celebrate simplicity and post B&W photographs that you have taken yourself. Thank you Anne Marie for inviting me to join you.

wow....to take that photograph....
how absolutely romantically beautiful........
thank you so much for participating this Sunday.....
Blessings.
Watery wonderful!!! Its one of my favorite cities in the world especially in the chilly fall when you need a light coat. I'm a sucker of a quiet rainy day.
I hope the clouds clear for Sunday & beyond.
I'm just back from the 'Laurel Hedge and 'French Essence' tour......fabulous, kept stopping for Pinot Grigot and olives, so am feeling kind of mellow and ready for the Being Ruby excursion...are we going via vaporetto or private taxi ?
As always, delightful photographs...... so peaceful in black and white.....it's been such a pleasure to return to one of my favourite places.
I'm first to comment again....that's me...always first to arrive and last to leave !! ,although, I think it has something to do with the time difference. XXXX
Sorry Jacqueline. I'm afraid we're on the cheap backpacker ferry this time. Couldn't even afford the colour! Hope you don't mind!
Ferry is fine....you meet some great people on the ferry....and I wasn't first this time.
Fab photos, so atmospheric, I love them. I love Venice :)
Thanks for these calming black and white photos! You're right, they're perfect for a Sunday. I love the grainy quality, as it adds to the overall feeling.
Simply gorgeous photos. Maybe someday I will go.

Julie these photos certainly do the trick. I love the grainy feature too, making them very vintage. I was there a million moons ago, but oh what an experience. Thanks for the mini vaca!! deb
