I could say I took these photos on my past travels through France.. But alas no..
I found these beauties outside a rundown apartment block on my way to visit my tax agent..
Yes .. Even a trip to a tax agent can procure a little beauty if you keep a watchful eye ..

I've been a little fascinated with this strange sea grass sort of plant. There is a huge glorious frond of these lovelies growing outside of a very expensive home near where I live.. Everytime I drive past I have an urge to stop and take some photos.. but so far haven't had the gumption for fear of being hounded like the paparazzi for invading one's privacy.. maybe if I see the residents I will just ask... So when I saw this bush again walking to my appointment.. out came the camera and a few quick snaps...

Beautiful. As a tax accountant I can vouch that we too can see beauty in everyday places. Bah, I'd rather describe myself as writer, my dream profession, but the other thing brings in the cash for food, shoes and handbags....

Beauty is special from your lens...poetic and sublime....Loved the movie Splendor in the Grass...just thinking about Natalie Wood screaming in that bathtub...wow.
I remember last summer working hard to come up with an ideal grass shot. In the end they were what most people would expect to see so I didn't use them. I prefer to expect the unexpected in most of my shots. Not always possible though.
Hi Julie, I love how nature takes over run down neglected areas, like the apartment block where you pictured these wonderful grasses. It is like it is reclaiming the ugliness left by people. The light in these pictures is wonderful. It really could be some exotic location.cheers Katherine

Oh Julie you have done that weed justice and some. How ever did you get them to glow like that? Its brilliant. Are you sure you need an slr? you seem to have mastered your camera just fine.
I agree wholeheartedly beauty can be found in the most common things around us. I often find the weeds around me to be more interesting then the most saute after plants we sell. Gee don't tell my customers...haha
hope this little trip to the tax man was made sweeter by this distraction....I'm sure it helped.

I love grasses and used to have some in our garden but, got rid of them, as they were seeding themselves all over the place. I much prefer to look at them in the wild or in your great photographs.

Truer words were never spoken or acted upon. There's a mystery unfolding wherever we tread...if only we take time to LOOK. It's too easy to focus on some task that must be completed...I'd be thinking about that tax man and hoping for a good result instead of looking down at the cobblestones...
