Tuesday and Day 2 of Venice Week: So what do you do with scratchy old photos and a poor scanner…? Make them scratchier, older and pretend their vintage of course! Slight problem with the speedboat.. but hey .. who’s looking? And what do you do when you are running out of pics ‘cause you STILL cannot find your travel stash? Easy… just divvy up the existing ones. By divvy I mean … this is about 1 quarter of 1 photo ‘circa 1993’ [or was it 1996?].. that’s what I call being Frugal !!! So if you want to see the other 3 quarters … y’all come back now!

I don't fly, so you are showing me places I will never see. You are doing it in a very unique way. The photo really does look vintage and I never even noticed the boat until you mentioned it!

Have a wonderful day.

A scanner is really a good invention...
I have one myself, but use it very rarely.
I think Yo´ve just inspired me to use it , very soon...
I have so many photos, just waiting to be showed off... =)

You post beautiful photos, by the way, as usual.
Have a really nice day.

Oh, Julie, this photograph looks as if it was taken in the 1920's ....actually, I think that they had speedboats in the '20's, so that's O.K. and the 20's are classed as vintage. I think that I've already said that I love your grainy photographs and the grainier the better and this one is VERY grainy and I love it. Can't wait for Day 3 of our Venice trip. Are we going for pasta now !!!! XXXX

Look at that water - it looks as though it uncrumpled itself especially for the image. I love what you do to these.

Dearest Julie-roo...thank you for la Serenissima pix. Absolutely one must use old photos...I distress some that people really liked. They would've been tossed out otherwise. Viva la scanner. These are lovely. The first time I went to Venice, I'd turned 18 about 7 weeks earlier, was in university in France, & had 10 days in November to wander around. Poor as the proverbial church mouse & it did not matter. One could stay in the center of the city then for very little. I look forward to the pasta post.

ciao-meow, cara!

I love this shot! And I did not see the speedboat indeed, only that captivating dark sea... and the line of buildings.

Hi! I just read your comment on Green and Pretty. We just heard from our friends, in Sydney, and they told us about the dust storm and sent us some images. Wow! Have to say I would have loved to have been there. We head back to Australia for a family visit soon. can't wait.
Your images are beautiful. I'm a fan!

I saw the dust storm on the news this morning. It looks so crazy! I hope it hasn't caused too much damage or inconvenience!

You could show me that photo a thousand times and I would never tire of it. The more grainy the better. It's like imagining your self in deep fog trying to make your way towards shore.

The House That A-M Built said...

Back again... oh yes we got the red dust storm, my beautiful new grey and white house is a subtle shade of red now. Our council is giving us a reprieve from water restrictions on the weekend to clean everything up. I am finding my floors a challenge. It is the sort of dust that doesn't mop up,, it just smears! You should see my piano...it looks like it has been in storage in an abandoned house, covered in dust for years! I have discovered my house is not dust proof....I built a beautiful new old house and got the 'old' thrown in for free, complete with rattley doors and squeaky floorboards, right at the front door. Hope your clean up goes ok! A-M xx
