They Shoot Horses Don't They?

Back In The Saddle Again

Well almost.. This post title was a toss up between the two.. The melodramatic 'They Shoot Horses'.. or the uppity 'Back In The Saddle'...  I went with the melodrama although starting to feel 'back in the saddle'.... Round two of antibiotics.. This time the right ones and I'm almost feeling like my old self again!!..  What a nuisance this tooth problem was... I was a little dizzy and disoriented last week and kept running into people.. Run over some guy with my trolley in the supermarket and then put on a woeful display of parking yesterday at the doctor's surgery.. BUT... one day on the good stuff and it's safe for me to be back on the roads again.

Now these poor horses wont' have such luck.. I came across these guys in Rome last August.. 39c and there they were having to transport lazy tourists with their designer shopping... [see still melodramatic haha].. But really folks.. It was tough to see these guys suffering in the heat.. I wanted to drag them into the shade and give them all a nice drink of water.. Not being a horse person I don't really know if this was tough on them.. But they looked sad and tied.. Actually I think we all looked sad and tired in that heat but we had a choice!!

Speaking of heat.. It's starting to heat up here in Sydney.. Although everyday seems to have four seasons and swings wildly between too hot and humid and damp wet and slightly chilly.. I'm grateful for the mostly cool nights whilst I get back into the swing of it all..  So pardon my absence and hopefully will be 'Back In The Saddle Soon'.

Have A Great Weekend All

Oh dear Julie,

I know how feeling just a tad under the weather can make you not even want to be in front of the light of the computer. But it is GOOD to see you back and oh, these magnificent beasts need to be treated with great care. I suppose people forget that just like cars, these transporters need a tune up, fuel and REST from the heat! I am a horse person, and to even see them with this muzzle of sorts makes me want to just take the thing off of them and let them run on a beach! Oh the weather is wacky EVERYWHERE. Here in Minnesota, it is supposed to be well below zero and with mounds and mounds of snow. But this year, very little snow has fallen and if it does, it MELTS! It feels more like early spring, and some people have even reported ROBINS already!

May your tooth and other things come to complete healing!!! Anita

Hi Julie,
Oh dear, it was sad to see that horse with the muzzle...surely, it can't be good...I wonder if they muzzled him to keep him from biting the customers.

I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling better...seems that you've been at this problem for some time now...have missed you...
Hugs and bandaids with hearts on them,
Becky

Horses really do get the bad end of the deal sometimes. They are the most beautiful animals ever.
Thank you for sharing. I am happy to learn everything is better in your neck of the woods!
Have a nice week, friend Julie.

you poor thing!!!...tooth problems are the worst!...but at least you don't have on a muzzle like that horse. When we got our rescue dog, Macey, they gave us two muzzles. I have never used them....instead i figured out the problem s with her....muzzles are just awful!.....so whinny away!!!

Great to see you back! You're so missed when you are not posting. I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Dental problems are the worst. I know, I always put it off until it's too late because I hate the dentist. Get more rest and enjoy your crazy weather. At least you have the sun:)
Take care!

Well Julie,
Make sure you don't jump up to quick.
Check the saddle belt is hooked.
Only kidding, get well soon.

Glad to see you're getting back in the gallop of things. Sounds like Australia is going through a menopausal summer with mood swings and wild veerings of temperature.

Glad to hear that you are on the mend. 2 friends (with good oral hygiene) have mechanical heart valves as a result of infections that took hold when the dentists were cleaning their teeth.
Those poor horses………….
Have a good week.
