:To The Moon Alice: Jan 2011

I'm a little late.. that's because I've been Moon waiting and watching.. Once a month you'll find me down at the beach, hanging with the boys.. waiting for the moon to rise... We sit there patiently .. the boys and I .. looking out to sea.. watching the roll and surge of waves hurrying toward the shore.. The boys can get a little ruffled if the wind is up.. much to-ing and fro-ing from one leg to another finding a steady balance ... but finally we are rewarded.. and that giant glow of love returns to look upon us... We watch the moon.. he watches us... We have a symbiotic relationship the moon and I... I send him adoration.. He sends me hopes and dreams.

January's Full Moon is traditionally know as The Old Moon or The Wolf Moon.. Names that relate to the seasons in the Northern Hemisphere... Being at the height of summer here.. these names just don't seem applicable.. So I've decided to start my own Moon Names with this new blogging year... I dub the January Moon... 'The Frangipani Moon'.. it suits the tropical feel of January in Sydney... and the huge orange saucer.. hanging on the horizon..

Wishing You All A Lovely Weekend ... and ... A great Full Moon Viewing !!!

And a BIG THANKS to Jeanne of Collage of Life ..
Jeanne has graciously mentioned my moon posts in her latest blog entry..
Thanks Jeanne .. you're a sweetheart!!!

Julie b

NOTES

Frangipani moon ... oooh, I do like the sound of that! You never disappoint with your gorgeous photos - but those flowers juxtaposed with the moon. Sigh ... so lovely ...
Though I am so jealous of your weather. We're expecting more snow tonight. Brrr...

I've never seen moons like the ones in your beautiful country. A wolf moon. You are all more attuned to nature than we seem to be in North America. And I love the fact that you and the boys go down to the water each month to pay homage to the moon. So cool. These photographs are beautiful and it makes us feel as if we are there with you "oohing" and "ahhing" right along with you. Can't wait to see what else is inside your camera.
How are the people suffering from all the floods? Are things getting better as yet? I haven't seen much on the news lately.

Oh...you've really created something beautiful with these. I'm in love with the pink frangipani/moon photo. It is perfect! I'd like to be hanging out with those "boys". I'm going to be hanging out with Mr. Snowman around here today.

Just beautiful Julie! That sounds like a perfect thing to do, I love a full moon and how it lights up the night. Unfortunately I haven't seen the moon all month here, clouds and snow have covered it up, but it is beautiful when it lights up the snow covered ground. :)

Hi Julie, only a blogger would take the liberty of deciding that the names given to moons for centuries need to be dusted off!! Well done, I love your frangipani moon, especially since I've never been lucky enough to see or smell a real frangipani flower.
I am like Jeanne too, I have you indelibly linked to the moon in my mind, as soon as the moon looks spectacular I wonder what you're going to do with it!
I also LOVE your new header, those side scrolls are so neat.

Dear young Julie, please, please rename all the moons. Frangipani Moon... you've set a wonderful tone for my entire day. Frangipani Moon... breathing in, I smell its sweet scent.

I love you.

Hi Julie...so brilliant, you are, to give your own names to the moon. It'll be so much for fun, romantic and feminine...good for the girl-y side of your gang of readers:)

I do so love the moon...does the moon come up in a flame of color...up from the sea? From my viewpoint, the moon appears during the day in a pale white circle...opposite from the position of the sun that is dropping over the edge of the sea. It is an upside-down world, isn't it?

It's been so overcast the past few nights that I didn't even realize it was full moon time Julie. I'm taking a photography class so watch out! ha

Sending you MOON BEAMS from Maine. Beautiful. I love watching Gulls they are pretty fiesty little birds. Some are real tough looking. I think they make a purfume from the Frangipani don't they?
Great photo's Julie.. yvonne

Hi Julie, the top image is wonderful and so dreamy... love all your other images too. There's something special about the moon, I've always been fascinated by its cycles and lately we've been blessed with some pretty amazing events - eclipse being one of them.
Thanks for sharing :))

You can name the moon what ever you'd like Julie. Like you said you have a symbiotic relationship so go ahead and alter at will. Beautifully done btw. Flora and la Luna couldn't be better suited together.
Will have to check Jeanne post.

great lunar love post, Julie. I've always had a great fondness for ole luna. each time i see a full moon, if i'm not with my boys, i'll give them a call and tell them to look for it low on the horizon (when she's HUGE and marvelous to look at, and think grand thoughts).

Now only my favorite moon blogger would name the January moon after my absolute favorite flower! Frangipani, also known as Plumeria, have lost their leaves in our winter weather. MIne are safely tucked in my cousin's garage, waiting for Spring and the warming sun to arrive.

I know this was a special moon in Australia this month, signaling the beginning of a new phase — both in the sky and on those who are working to recover from the flooding.

JULIE DEAREST ONE!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND and sincere comments....I think I am going to learn an important lesson from this emptiness...I really do. For in being empty, I somehow created SOMETHING from nothing. I need to "bottle" that and try to hone my ability to create even in the midst of a meager source of inspiration. I will be watching for your new photos!! CIAO BELLA, Anita

Dear Julie...I love it...The Frangipani Moon...The Frangipani would have to be one of my very favourtie flowers...who can resist that delicious scent!!! Funny enough, before moving here...on one of the wharves here were 3 frangipanis scattered...who knows where they came from...I just took this all as a very special sign!!! Cool shots as always...Dzintra♥x
