:To The Moon Alice: Dec 2010

December 21, 2010 has brought us a full moon eclipse. Coinciding with the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice here in Australia. A time to allow magic to enter our lives. The magic that occurs at Christmas, a Full Moon and an eclipse!

Since I was a child, the Full Moon has always brought me comfort.. a constant reminder that I am not alone.. a guiding light.. and the keeper of my dreams and wishes. This full moon all my wishes are for our dear blogging friend Jane. I wish her strength, love and courage and a swift recovery.

PS: I'm hoping I can catch up with each of you whilst my internet is actually behaving... But just in case, I'll take the chance to thank you now.. I've been blessed with your support and friendship this year.. The ever constant encouragement and kindness that has come my way via comments and emails and the friendly banter of blogging. I hope you each know how much I value your friendship and what joy you bring into my life.

Thanks also to Cecilia of Desde My Ventana for hosting her Christmas Advent Series

What fabulous pictures....good to know that while I was sleeping you were able to capture the magic for us all to wonder at. The dark of winter puts me to bed early...even so it was snowing here so I doubt if I would have seen what you saw. The moon is our common denominator. Next full moon I will be on a beach on Isla Holbox, Mexico and you can be sure....I won't be sleeping! Best of the solstice to you! The days are getting longer! (shorter for you, sorry)

Cloud cover here... they were kind enough to part now & again, allowing for glimpses of the eclipse... spectacular at its' peak! I wish you every happiness this season, dear Julie. You, your images, & your words are, quite simply, a beauty & a delight.

Peace to you,
Julia~

Dear Julie--Thank you for being such a terrific pen-pal this year (& last). These are gorgeous photographs, as usual. We didn't get outside to see the eclipse...too cold & too dark to chance it. Just knowing it was there was enough. xoxoxo

First, let me also add my heartfelt condolences for our friend Jane and her family at this time.

Secondly, your photos are BRILLIANT! I had to run back and add a link to your post on mine of the total lunar eclipse from Florida's point of view. Of course, my photos don't do the justice to such a spectacular event that yours do, but it was so soothing to my soul to be outside in the wee hours witnessing such beauty. Cold, but soothing. I hadn't even put together that yours would be during the Summer Solstice there, that is so COOL!

Thank you for another year of friendship and sharing, my sweet and dear friend.

Dearest Julie,

Via Desde My Ventana I arrived here and joined you. Australia does have a warm spot in my heart as I have relatives there! We worked there a few times also, as consultants. So I LOVE it; full moon or not...

Merry Christmas to you!

Oh, that's a stunning photo, Julie...great capture! Unfortunately, it was too cloudy in my part of the world to see the eclipse.

Hope you have a wonderful and love-filled Christmas...:)

Hello Julie!
I was sitting down on Bronte beach last night after a sunset swim, and watched the eclipsed full moon rise out of the ocean. What a magical night it was!
I thought of you and how you would be out there snapping this amazing event and as usual, I love your pictures!

I can't wait to get the two I have ordered. xx

Am just finishing one final post for the year, then I'll be closing SFI for a week or so. Time to kick back and enjoy family and summer.

Hope you have a beautiful Christmas and sparkly New Year. All the best for 2011 and thank you for all all your stunning posts, pictures and lovely emails in 2010.

Here's to laughing over coffee in 2011!

xx Charlotta

Oh Julie Blogging would not be half as fun if you were not in it. I value your friendship so much and always enjoy our long emails. ....though of late there have been few from me. i hope to catch up after the holidays. I feel a little like I've been taken away by aliens....haha but not to anywhere worth talking about.
LOve your moon post.....and the swirly skies are magical. I hope your friend recovers quickly. Such a sad time for her and her family. I'm sure the support from you and her readers is very needed at this time.
Merry Christmas

Precious Julie! I JUST SAW YOUR COMMENT COME IN!!! That was so weird, like watching an eclipe!!!!!

It has been a great year of blogging, hasn't it dear one? We all have something unique to share, and your great talents of wit and photography have just captured my heart....I had always seen your picture on other comment pages, but one day I just had to visit you and I am so glad that I did.

Thank you for your comments on my little theatre! Bebe is actually the drawing of Penny, a DARLING of a woman that I had the pleasure to meet when I went out to California this summer to see family. Penny joins me and a couple of other dear blogger pals on NOWHERE, a blog where we just cut loose and have so much fun confabulating animal antics. But Tea Rat and Rattus are mine and live very vividly in my heart. Tea Rat is more like myself...a bit impulsive, wearing his heart on his sleeve and always something up his sleeve...Rattus is more like my husband. SHy, reserved, brilliant, a scribe and scholar, but knows how to shake his arse when appropriate and always comes through for anyone in need! teeeheeee.....

BIG HUGS HUGES AND BLESSINGS TO YOU THIS SEASON AND ALWAYS, JULIE!

Fondly, Anita

Hi Julie, so glad to know you're still here...the red moon was glorious here in Florida...not a fog or cloud covered it but of course, I'm unable to photograph it with my goofy little camera...so glad you were able to do it!

My best wishes go out to you on behalf of your internet:) in case I miss it, have a beautiful Christmas lovely end to the year!
Love and hugs,
