:To The Moon Alice: I Saw The Moon

i saw the moon ... he kissed the sea
oh how i wish that he'd kissed me
i saw his light ... touch her face
he filled the evening with his grace
i saw the moon ... kiss the sea
why oh why won't he kiss me?

i saw the sun hide her face
the boats sailed home ... and slowed their pace
i saw the moon caress the sea
why oh why
won't the moon ... caress me?

i saw the moon
did the moon see me?

To The Moon Alice: August 2010

Moon Notes
Harvest Moon
August 25, 3:06am Sydney Time

... One of my long held dreams.. is to own my own home... a home overlooking the sea ... Lately I've come to realise that this imaginary home... this abode 'alla Ruby' must also face east... East to the rising moon... where she throws her silvery cast upon the salty waters. Of course to achieve this dream I may just need to win the lottery... but thankfully ... taking a stroll by moonlight ... and looking out to sea ... is still an experience that has no price tag ...

Thankfully ... I do live close enough to the sea ... to take a stroll when the moon is full.... I do live on the east coast where the sea meets the sand under a rising moon ... and thankfully... the moon has the ability to soothe my worries... enrich my heart and renew my spirit...I'm grateful that I was born with a love for La Luna .... and I am grateful that this evening ...

I Saw The Moon ...
Did the moon see me?

Keeping my eye out, dear Julie...for the moon and for your giveaway. Thank you again for another moon sighting...when I return to Florida in a month I'll be able to better able to sight the moon for myself...but my camera won't be able to capture its face as beautifully as yours does...so keep the moon coming my way each month, Ruby...ever so delightful each time.

Oh, Julie, this is so wonderful.
One day we will live at the edge, you at your sea, me at mine.
My house will face east too :-))
The moon did see you, he kissed your cheek.
Even if you didn't feel it, he did.
Hugs to you, my dear moon chasing friend.

Beautiful post Julie. You have such a wonderful way about you. I just l-o-v-e your photos and.... you are pretty good at poetry as well. I did a '5 year plan' board which had a house by the sea, a specific car, and a girl in a great bikini. I pulled it out after 5 years when I was unpacking for my house by the sea. The car was also the same and even the same colour as the picture. Go figure!!!...

Julie, as always you have touched my imagination and heart with your beautiful photos and words. I can't wait to see where your moon chasing journey takes you. To the moon Alice, indeed. Meredy xo.
p.s. my kids were all agog at the big orange moon sitting low in the sky tonight. Missy Moo said "Imagine what it's like in real life!" Too funny.

I always love it when you post shots of the water. This is truly beautiful. I long to have a home near the sea as well. My taste has changed as I've gotten older. I used to picture the fancy house or upscale condo...now, I see myself in a cozy cottage. *Sigh* I need a lottery to win as well.

Julie, you absolutely have the most beautiful moon shots. Can you believe we missed the full moon here in Boston? We had a noreaster or rain storm and it was too cloudy. So disappointing!

So glad I can look at the moon through your lens. Love those ocean shots!

Hi Julie darling....I needed to chanel a bit of adventurous, brave Ruby this week...so glad it is Saturday. Love the pics and the words. I used to sing I see the moon to son number two, so enchanting "I see the moon the moon sees me, high up above the big oak tree, please let the light that shines on me, shine on the one I love"....happy the moon was shining on you this week my friend and she obligingly let you snap and tweek her image, thank-you for always leaving me such lovely comments even when I am a bit slack in the return, Katherine xx Ps giveaway sounds very exciting and had a chuckle at the spinster...such a horrid word...why are single women old maids andvsingle men considered fancy free....another injustice lol.

I know the moon saw you! I know it did!! Oh Julie, we share the same dream of a house by the sea. Maybe we should share a lotto ticket too! I'm so sorry I haven't been around. I've been thinking of you lots and lots but have been too wrapped up in preparing for the start of the school year. Phew. It's nice to come home to your blog.
Hope you are well and still following your dreams. Your moon pictures make me homesick for Aussie...Not long to go now
Much love
