Dear 2011: A Parting Message

'My Message To 2011'
& my new answer for everything

Dear 2011

You have pushed me to my limit Sir .. Once again I find myself putting pen to paper to question your motives and point out that your behaviour can no longer be tolerated. I am saying goodbye to you dear sir!! There is no more room in my life for your fickle antics and unconscionable tactics. 

I know I spoke similar harsh words to your cousin 2009... You are cut from the same cloth... 'Brothers from another Mother'... You give with one hand and take with the other.. Ok.. I will give credit where it is due.. You did bestow some wonderful gifts... There's no overlooking a trip to Europe nor gifts of a more personal nature which will remain unspoken in such a public forum.. But really you also created much havoc to all and sundry and I think it's time to move on.. 

Don't try and stop me with flattering words or false promises that quite frankly I doubt you can deliver in less than 12 hours..  Any such attempts to sway my decision will demand the forthcoming response..

... As a wise woman once said ...

The post Christmas lull has finally arrived and traditionally, here in Sydney, it's time to hit the beach. Although the weather gods aren't always complying this summer, it's still a lovely time to take a stroll and watch the world go by before the pre New Year crazy starts. Or has that started already?

Sorry I was unable to continue with my christmas posts nor get around to visit everyone but I'll try and do the rounds over the next few days.

Another Angel for Christmas!  This is my fourth Angel of the ten that live upon the Ponte sant'Angelo in Roma [others here]. This little fellow is aptly named 'Angel with Lance'... So inventive those Romans... 

I hope you are all having a lovely lead up to Christmas.. It is the silly season.. So remember to be safe as you scurry around helping Santa in his tasks... I'll send one of my Angels to watch over you!

Just Horsing Around

Blowing off steam for me means fooling around with my travel shots [which I'm sure you've all figured out by now .. there's been a lot of blowing off steam going on lately].. These poster creations hold special appeal as they allow me to be express my inner child!!... I just can't decide which colours and tones I prefer so here's a few choices..

I've been working on these images for a friend... and now have a bunch of ideas brewing in my head just waiting to get out if I don't get sidetracked onto some other distraction .. like Christmas which is moving up on us quickly!! 

So stop horsing around and get a giddyup missy!!

La Vie En Rose

IF la Vie En Rose is playing in your head right now .. then that's a good thing!! As that's what I'm listening to on one of those little wind up music boxes I brought home from Paris. And  that's what I'm hearing when I think of Montmartre... If you can find the quiet amongst the crowds, then you'll also find the magic. The story book Montmartre where the imagined is more tangible than the reality.. 

Lucky for me I found some quiet moments as I strolled along the alleyways.. recovering from my climb to the top of Sacre Coeur [see here].  Relax with a cafe creme.. or perhaps a gelati.. as you watch the carousel delight the children and the child within.. whilst listening to the bittersweet tones of a piano accordion somewhere in the distance. 

I'm in a green mood as we are finally having the perfect spring day!! Now that it is actually summer!! .. Spring saw the weather in Sydney fluctuate between 38c heat waves and cold damp days of 18c... Mix in a bit of torrential rain and that's what we've been experiencing.. They predict we are in for a hot and steamy summer... For now I'll just enjoy this perfect spring like weather and hope it continues this way for a bit.
